Sr. Professional Services Consultant - Networking/Security

Description

You will act as technical lead on client infrastructure work, covering consulting, design, implementation, configuration and knowledge transfer, and advise clients as the subject matter expert.

The role includes scoping new technical services and solutions for client business needs, along with custom integration and consulting work.

Responsibilities

• Produce solution designs, implementation plans and supporting documents, then carry out the implementations.
• Lead project teams to deliver implementations successfully.
• Work with clients to gather requirements, design solutions, and build proofs of concept and full implementations.
• Apply best practice across design, planning, implementation, validation and testing, documentation, knowledge transfer, troubleshooting and ongoing support.
• Write and maintain the company's standards for scoping, documentation and implementation.
• Deliver consultative knowledge transfer and documentation to clients.
• Run assessments, health checks, performance tests and capacity planning with clients.
• Work with RMO and PMO to schedule and manage engagements.
• Evaluate products and lead process improvement and practice refinement.
• Build client trust by listening well and delivering on commitments on time, while managing expectations and keeping clients satisfied.
• Mentor and train team members to work well in a collaborative setting.
• Keep up with applicable federal, state and local laws and company policies, and act honestly, ethically and professionally.
• Conduct yourself in line with customer service expectations.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in a related field. An equivalent combination of education and experience is accepted.
• 10 years of Cisco and Palo Alto experience designing, implementing and supporting their network and security solutions, including Cisco edge, distribution and core switching, with the Nexus product line.
• Cisco routers and routing protocols: OSPF, EIGRP and BGP.
• Implementing and administering Cisco security devices: ASA and FirePower.
• Implementing and administering Palo Alto devices: NGFW, Panorama and Strata.
• Security engineering and support across firewalls, FirePower, VPNs, packet capture and similar tools.
• Identity controls with Cisco ISE, and two factor authentication.
• Thorough knowledge of VLANs, spanning tree, VPCs, VDCs, OTV, IPv4 and IPv6.
• A consulting background focused on Cisco solutions.
• Proficiency in all Microsoft Office applications, including Visio.
• One or more of the following certifications: CCNP, CCIE R/S, or CISSP.
• Excellent written and verbal communication, with the confidence to work professionally with external clients and internal teams.
• Ability to interview clients in depth to identify their needs and define the scope of work for a solution.
• Self-starter with strong organization, administration and interpersonal skills.
• Strong time and priority management, handling requests from many clients and internal teams at once.
• Outstanding problem solving, decision making and analytical skills, including managing very complex projects.
• Ability to keep strong client relationships and high satisfaction ratings.
• Ability to travel nationally to meet clients.
• Proactive about your own career development.

Conditions

This role has no supervisory responsibilities.
