Description

Career Progression & Growth Potential

By mastering the workshop dynamics, competitive landscape, and requirement translation early on, you will support product ownership and take on strategic customer account responsibility (managing major aftermarket accounts and high-level commercial partnerships for Bosch).

Role Mission

The Sr Product Manager for PAD Product Area supports the growth, portfolio health, and roadmap execution for the North American aftermarket. We are looking for an inquisitive individual who aims for clarity and is deeply passionate about the automotive aftermarket, vehicle diagnostics, and hands-on vehicle repair.

You will help collect, structure and consolidate various inputs to VOC via workshop insights, strategic partner feedback, field issues and competitive benchmarking into clear JIRA requirements to support the development of the product platform. The goal is these insights ensure customer pain points are translated into highly actionable product improvements and enhancements that directly enable our product offering and roadmap.

The dual role of the Product Manager is also to serve as a Technical Account Manager to strategic accounts where you will represent the product management activities (roadmap and enhancement developments) with key customers for the PAD portfolio of Diagnostics, RDS, ADAS and Accessories.

Responsibilities

  • Translating Insights to Requirements
  • Translate Feedback to Requirements: Collect and aggregate various VOC feedback from Strategic Partners, workshop visits, field feedback to translate workshop pain points and competitive gaps into clear, logical product enhancement ideas.
  • Draft JIRA Input: Enter and draft clear, well-structured user stories or tickets in JIRA. This ensures the customer’s voice is accurately documented, and drive these requirements through engineering.
  • JIRA Alignment: Ensure all administrative tracking within requirements management tools is maintained and clean.
  • Technical Account Management
  • You will be assigned key accounts where we offer customized diagnostic and RDS solutions
  • Help design and drive customer specific solutions
  • Develop, drive and communicate customer-specific roadmap internally and externally
  • Be the one face to the customer from a perspective
  • PAD Portfolio & Database Management (Phase-In / Phase-Out)
  • Execute System Phase-In & Phase-Out: Take primary responsibility for the database lifecycle of diagnostic products by coordinating the phase-in of new products and phase-out/EOL of legacy SKUs.
  • Competitor Benchmarking & Roadmap Enablement
  • Execute Competitor Benchmarking: Conduct hands-on analysis of competitive aftermarket diagnostic tools (evaluating vehicle coverage, software updates, speed, UI/UX)
  • Collect & Structure Insights: Compile and synthesize benchmarking data into highly organized summaries, tables, and reports.
  • Enable the Product Offering: Evaluate data and evidence needed to make strategic portfolio decisions, validate business cases, and define the North American product strategy.
  • Workshop Research & Technician Pain Points
  • Immerse in the Workshop: Actively engage with real-world technicians, shop owners, and diagnostic tool users in their environment to build a profound understanding of their daily workflows and struggles.
  • Coordinate Focus Groups: Support and facilitate workshop focus groups, user panels, and surveys to capture qualitative and quantitative feedback.
  • Ensure Pain Point Clarity: analyze technician feedback to get absolute clarity on why certain diagnostic features fail or succeed in the field, ensuring we have a true, unfiltered understanding of the customer’s needs.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Automotive Technology, Mechanical/Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or Business Administration with a strong technical background.
  • 5+ years of professional experience, ideally within the automotive aftermarket, vehicle repair, or diagnostics software.
  • Database & Portfolio Management : Strong attention to detail with experience or high capability in managing product master databases, SKUs, and product lifecycles (phase-in / phase-out).
  • Technical Tools: Familiarity with JIRA or other requirement tracking tools is highly preferred.
  • Analytical Translation: Strong capability to compile competitor benchmarking and qualitative user feedback into structured, clear data for the Product Manager.
  • Customer Empathy: Exceptional ability to connect with workshop technicians, understand their pain points, and advocate for their needs.
  • Domain Passion: A genuine interest in car repair, OBD diagnostics, and automotive aftermarket technology is highly preferred.
  • Career Ambition: Highly motivated to learn the ropes of product management and eventually grow into a Product Manager / Senior PM with strategic customer account responsibility.
  • Core Soft Skills: Proactive, inquisitive, naturally seeks clarity, and is comfortable multi-tasking across different portfolio and research tasks.
  • Indefinite U.S. work authorized individuals only. Future sponsorship for work authorization is not available.
  • Additional Information
