Description

The company is a content management company headquartered in Redwood City, California, with offices across the United States, Europe and Asia. Founded in 2005, it serves large global organizations such as JLL, Morgan Stanley and Nationwide.

The company's platform helps organizations collaborate, manage the full content lifecycle, secure critical content and change business workflows using enterprise AI. Content such as contracts, invoices, employee records, financials, product specs and marketing assets moves through teams every day, and the company wants to add intelligence to how that content is managed.

The company is growing quickly and wants its Search capabilities to be world-class, so users can find what they need quickly, accurately and intuitively. This is a product leadership role for the company Search, where you will shape the vision and evolution of features that help users find and access content quickly and precisely.

You will cover the needs of both admin and end-user personas, design intuitive experiences including APIs, and make sure everything meets the performance, resiliency and security that enterprise customers rely on. You will work closely with the Search engineering team based in Poland.

Responsibilities

  • Set the product strategy and roadmap for the company Search, finding ways to improve content discoverability, search relevance and user experience.
  • Define requirements for core Search features such as semantic search, intelligent ranking and personalized results.
  • Understand the needs of admin and end-user personas and turn their varied use cases into clear product requirements.
  • Find and analyze problems and opportunities in the search experience, use data to guide decisions, and share your findings.
  • Set priorities across requirements and plan with engineering across fiscal year, quarterly and Agile cycles.
  • Propose and push for ongoing improvements to the Search platform.
  • Work with other product managers, engineering leaders and cross-functional stakeholders to align roadmaps, scope and priorities for the wider content platform.
  • Talk with customers directly to learn how their needs are changing, collect feedback and test product ideas.
  • Explain product strategy, vision and day-to-day progress to audiences from engineering teams to executive leadership.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Product Management or equivalent experience in a related field.
  • 5-7 years as a Product Manager, Product Owner (in Agile) or similar role at a software company, with a strong focus on search, information retrieval or discovery products.
  • Deep understanding of search technologies, indexing, ranking algorithms and query processing.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to explain complex strategy and detailed day-to-day work clearly and concisely to varied audiences.
  • Skill at listening to customers and turning their needs into practical product insights.
  • Strong interpersonal skills to build relationships and work with stakeholders across product, engineering, sales and customer success.
  • A solid technical background to understand platform capabilities and constraints and work effectively with engineers.
  • Experience working in a highly cross-functional environment.
  • Natural curiosity and the ability to go deep into product and technical architecture.
  • Ability to use data to inform decisions, set requirements and measure success.
  • Enjoy motivating teams, handling complexity, driving operational excellence and delivering outstanding results.
  • Additional points that would be an advantage: experience with large-scale search platforms such as Elasticsearch, Solr or similar; familiarity with machine learning in search, such as learning-to-rank, natural language processing (NLP) or semantic search; experience with cloud-native technologies and distributed systems; understanding of content management systems and enterprise software; knowledge of search analytics and relevance tuning methods.
