Description

The company runs a marketplace where more than 100,000 tutors teach 90+ languages to learners in 180 countries.

It recently raised a $150M Series D and reached unicorn status, with a plan to build human-led, AI-enhanced learning.

Its approach pairs human tutors with technology, and it sees itself as shaping how learning works at global scale.

Team values include disciplined execution, digging into the data, challenging ideas and then committing once a decision is made, and putting learners first.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the launch of a new AI-first, freemium offering, owning its strategy, roadmap, delivery and commercial results on web and mobile for learners and tutors.
  • Own the business case, pricing and packaging for that launch, along with the metrics that show whether it is working. Bring commercial judgement to every priority call.
  • Run a portfolio of high-impact initiatives that cut across several squads and tribes, aligning people who don't report to you around one shared outcome.
  • Keep senior leaders in Product, Design, Engineering, Marketing, Finance and Operations aligned. Build trust, raise trade-offs early and drive decisions without formal authority.
  • Keep learners and tutors at the centre of decisions so each strategic bet solves a problem people actually feel.
  • Work without a dedicated squad, using product resources where you can. Turn ambiguous, cross-functional work into clear plans, owners and shipped results, bridging product and program management.
  • Run your own analyses of how learners and tutors use the platform, especially what drives conversion and retention in the new offering and where the experience falls short.

Requirements

  • A track record of shipping consumer products that are mobile-first, with a sharp eye for design and attention to detail.
  • Experience launching or scaling monetization products.
  • Commercial sharpness: you care about pricing, packaging, conversion, retention and unit economics, and can build and defend a launch business case.
  • Genuine curiosity about learners and tutors, applied to every prioritisation decision.
  • Data skills: you pull and interpret data yourself, form your own view, design experiments and read A/B results accurately.
  • Influence: you earn trust quickly, align senior cross-functional leaders who sit outside your reporting line, and turn competing priorities into shared decisions.
  • Communication: you turn complex, ambiguous problems into a clear point of view that leaders act on.
  • Execution in ambiguity: you make fuzzy goals measurable, agree what good looks like, and deliver with resources you borrow or influence.
