Sr. Principal Software Signal Processing Engineer

Description

The role sits with the space systems group on the DARC program, under the Deep Space Advanced Capabilities contract.

You would build new digital signal processing software for radar that identifies and tracks objects in geosynchronous orbit.

The position is based in Colorado Springs, Colorado.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, document, test and debug applications and systems that rely on logical and mathematical methods.
• Carry out multidisciplinary research and work with equipment and hardware engineers on planning, designing, developing and using electronic data processing systems for product and commercial software.
• Work out what a program should do, what outputs it must produce, how input data is gathered, which coding methods fit, and how to keep it under control.
• Write operating instructions and design and build compilers, assemblers, utility programs and operating systems.

Requirements

• Proven experience developing and tuning radar signal processing algorithms and pipelines for DSP, using common toolchains such as DSP System Toolbox, Signal Processing Toolbox and the Phased Array System toolsets.
• Proven experience using GPGPU acceleration, such as CUDA, to speed up performance-critical signal processing or analytics workloads.
• Experience using AI engineering tools, such as an AI coding assistant, to speed up code explanation, refactoring and test generation, while staying accountable for reviewed code.
• 8 years of experience with a bachelor's degree in science, 6 years with a master's degree in science, or 4 years with a PhD.
• An active DoD Secret clearance at the time you apply.
• Experience with C++, Java, Python and CUDA.
• Experience with Linux.
• Experience with RF signal processing.
• Experience with GPU optimization.
• Experience with the NVIDIA MatX library.
• Experience with AI tooling.
• Experience with high side development and processes.

Conditions

Primary level base pay range is $129,300.00 to $193,900.00, a general guideline; the actual offer depends on scope and responsibilities, experience, education, skills and market conditions.

Travel is about 10% of the time.

A Secret clearance is required before you start.
