Space RADAR Data Processing - Staff Engineer Systems

The company's space systems group in Linthicum, Maryland is hiring a staff-level systems engineer.

The work centres on building new radar data processing algorithms and adding them to System Bench, a MATLAB model of the Space Radar Data Processing Element (DPE). The model supports development, production and on-orbit work on Space Radar Payload programs.

You would join the System Bench MATLAB radar processing team.

Responsibilities

• Design, build and extend algorithms that process and analyse radar data for new radar modes and space capabilities.
• Add these algorithms to the existing System Bench MATLAB model.

Requirements

• A bachelor's degree in a STEM field plus 12 years of relevant experience, or an MS plus 10 years, or a PhD plus 7 years.
• Experience in RF signal processing. Radar work is ideal, but SIGINT, electronic warfare or communications experience is also accepted.
• Hands-on MATLAB programming experience.
• A Top Secret clearance from the U.S. Government, current and within scope when you apply, and the ability to obtain and keep SCI approval and access.
• Preferred: experience with Atlassian tools such as Jira, Confluence and Bitbucket.
• Preferred: radar signal work done in MATLAB.
• Preferred: experience testing and integrating radar modes.
• Preferred: a bachelor's degree in electrical engineering, computer engineering, computer science or math.
• Preferred: active SCI access or approval.

Conditions

On-site work in a classified program area in Linthicum, Maryland.

No travel is required.

A Top Secret clearance is required to start.

The primary level base salary range is $163,200.00 to $244,800.00. This is a guideline, and the final offer depends on the role's scope and responsibilities, your experience, education and skills, and current market conditions.
