Sr. Principal Program Manager (US Federal)

The company is a Fortune 500 AI platform for managing people, money, and agents, and it is growing its Federal business.

The team is hiring a Sr. Program Manager, also listed as a Sr. Principal Project Manager (TPM), to lead large, cross-organization strategic programs that drive growth in the Federal market.

The role supports one or more direct or indirect contracts with the U.S. Federal Government. Because of federal security requirements, everyone working on these contracts must be a United States citizen, either naturalized or native.

You will act as a change agent alongside executive leadership, program sponsors, business leads, and technology teams.

Responsibilities

• Drive the successful implementation of large-scale, cross-organization strategic programs that support enterprise growth in the Federal market.
• Define strategy, identify scope, design cross-functional work, and align timelines.
• Ensure on-time delivery of committed outcomes and deliverables, using proven industry practices and delivery models that favor agility and innovation.
• Coordinate critical initiatives, manage dependencies, and mitigate risks.
• Engage engineering, security, and operations teams and give executives clear insight.
• Lead cross-functional program teams across several workstreams, building integrated plans and goals, tracking progress, and reporting on objectives.
• Facilitate cross-functional meetings, identify dependencies between programs, and keep functional deliverables and plans aligned.
• Help set up and run the executive governance and operating practices the program requires.
• Partner with team members to design, build, and roll out technical, business, compliance, and delivery processes for the Federal market.

Requirements

• Have 10+ years of progressive technical program management across organizations, ideally on highly visible, large-scale strategic initiatives in the federal and/or public sector.
• Have 5+ years of experience creating and rolling out new technology, cloud environments, migrations, and business, compliance, and delivery processes at software or SaaS companies entering the Federal market.
• Have 10+ years of building and maintaining strong relationships at every level, including a record of influencing executive leadership.
• Have previous experience working in a federal government business model.
• Show strong analytical thinking and make sound business decisions in complex situations.
• IL5 and TS experience is a plus.
• FedRAMP experience is a plus.
• Have experience with design thinking, strategy definition, and execution, and thrive in fast-paced, constantly changing environments.
• Bring strong attention to detail, process, and organization, and the ability to explain ideas clearly in different formats. Experience creating and running successful internal communications strategies is expected.
• Adapt to ambiguity and shift priorities quickly. Spot risks and issues early and put mitigation plans in place.
• Work well with executive leadership, cross-functional teams, and third parties.
• Be technically fluent, highly organized, and able to break complex problems into actionable plans, with a proactive, ownership-driven, results-focused approach.

Conditions

A security clearance at the TS/SCI W/CI Poly level may be required. You must be able to obtain and maintain a U.S. government security clearance. An active TS/SCI w/CI Poly clearance is preferred.

On-site work at client locations in the DC, MD, and VA (DMV) area may be required.

The work model combines in-person time with remote work: at least 50% of your time each quarter is spent in the office or in the field with customers, prospects, and partners, depending on the role. There is no fixed number of office days per week, and remote home-office roles may also come to the office for key moments.

Primary location is USA.VA.Reston, with base pay of $217,400 USD to $326,000 USD. Additional US locations have a base pay range of $196,700 USD to $349,400 USD. Pay varies by location, and offers depend on geography, experience, skills, job duties, and business need. Recruiters can share more during hiring.
