The role applies systems engineering and cybersecurity methods across the full program lifecycle, shaping secure architectures, requirements and implementations for the BQM-34 system.

No relocation assistance is offered. A Secret clearance is required to start, and travel is expected to be about 10% of the time.

Responsibilities

  • Write, break down and manage cyber and security requirements, tracing each one through design, build and test.
  • Define and maintain security architectures for systems and subsystems in AISR&T programs, following RMF, NIST and DoD guidance.
  • Run security risk assessments, threat models and vulnerability analyses, then recommend and track mitigations.
  • Create and update security engineering documents such as CONOPS, ICDs, security plans, interface specifications and test procedures.
  • Work with software, hardware, network and integration teams to build security controls into designs and implementations.
  • Scan program systems and write findings reports with accompanying vulnerability analyses.
  • Plan and run security testing, review results and move remediation work forward.
  • Take part in technical reviews, trade studies and technical interchange meetings with customers and mission partners.
  • Give clear technical briefings and status updates to program leadership and customers.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, computer science or a related STEM field, plus 5 years of relevant experience.
  • Experience in systems engineering, cybersecurity, or both, covering requirements, architecture, integration or test.
  • Familiarity with government and industry security frameworks such as NIST, RMF and DoD STIGs.
  • Active DoD Secret clearance to start, and the ability to obtain and keep higher-level clearances if program needs change.
  • Strong written and spoken communication and the ability to work well across cross-functional teams.
  • Preferred: experience on airborne ISR, mission systems or tactical communications programs.
  • Preferred: experience with RMF in a DoW acquisition environment.
  • Preferred: hands-on work with secure network architectures, enclave design, cross-domain solutions, or platform and embedded systems security.
  • Preferred: professional cybersecurity certifications such as Security+, CISSP or CEH, or relevant training.

Conditions

Based on-site in Rancho Bernardo, CA, where on-site presence is required to support classified work and lab and flight activities.

Some travel may be required for reviews, integration events or customer meetings.

No relocation assistance is provided.

The posted base salary range is $0.00 to $0.00, a general guideline; the company weighs scope, responsibilities, experience, education, skills and current market conditions when setting pay.

The application period is estimated at 20 days from the posting date and may be shortened or extended based on business needs and candidate availability.

  • Annual bonuses that reward individual contributions and let employees share in company results.
  • Vice President and Director roles may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
  • Health insurance, life and disability insurance, and a savings plan.
  • Paid company holidays, plus paid time off covering vacation and personal business.
