Description

This US marketing role supports the company's da Vinci surgery programs for patients worldwide. You will work under the direction of the US clinical marketing leaders to plan and run marketing for General Surgery and Acute Care, including hernia, cholecystectomy and appendectomy procedures.

The main goal is to grow procedure volume with the da Vinci Surgical System and its related products, with a particular focus on da Vinci 5 and SP. You will build the market by working closely with a group of leaders from several functions.

You will work with the marketing and sales teams, external Key Opinion Leaders (KOLs), surgical society leaders, and internal stakeholders in other marketing groups, training, clinical affairs, legal, regulatory, and Market Access and Health Economics.

Responsibilities

  • Create and carry out integrated marketing strategies that speed up da Vinci adoption in General Surgery, with a focus on da Vinci 5 and SP.
  • Write marketing plans and the tactical programs behind them to meet budgeted growth targets in key General Surgery areas.
  • Gather qualitative and quantitative insight on current and new markets, surgeons, their practices, the patient journey and each step of the clinical procedure.
  • Use market knowledge to shape value messages (clinical, economic, operational and strategic), collateral, tactics and programs that show a clear return.
  • Track market trends and their likely effects on current and future projects, and monitor competitors to build your differentiation.
  • Help set budgets, allocate resources and plan finances for projects, and justify spend with measurable returns across marketing and media channels such as webinars and sales collateral.
  • Work with KOL surgeons to learn how the da Vinci Surgical System and instruments are used, then decide how to present that value to other physicians.
  • Build KOL relationships in each market segment so the company becomes the preferred industry partner.
  • Deepen engagement with key society members and leaders so the company is seen as a core partner in congress planning and guideline development.
  • Manage trade show activity, digital and website work, and campaign tracking, then report results and recommend future promotions.
  • Coach fellow marketers on onboarding, marketing standards and business acumen across clinical, hospital and academic settings.
  • Lead cross-functional teams on high-value marketing projects and programs.
  • Present clearly to senior and executive leadership.
  • Become the go-to expert on General Surgery and Acute Care, using approved claims, value propositions, surgeon feedback and sales input to grow the company's footprint in these areas.
  • Model the company's culture and learn its expectations for individual success.

Requirements

  • 12+ years of marketing experience in a therapeutic medical device company preferred.
  • Proven record of aligning diverse teams and using influence to drive business results.
  • Results-driven, with a strong drive to win. You work well independently and need little supervision.
  • Proven ability to solve open-ended problems and drive initiatives across functions.
  • Strong verbal and written communication, presentation skills, team-building and relationship skills across many stakeholder groups.
  • Bachelor's degree required. MBA or Master's degree preferred.
  • Well versed in the MS Office Suite.
