Watch enterprise network and transport systems around the clock for live alerts, hardware alarms, and unusual traffic.
Triage, isolate, and fix Layer 1 to Layer 3 network incidents using standard operating procedures and automated scripts.
Escalate complex, cross-domain, or multi-system outages to senior leadership and advanced engineering, supplying detailed troubleshooting logs.
Provision, deploy, configure, and tune enterprise routers, multilayer switches, and network appliances for performance and redundancy.
Carry out Cisco IOS and IOS-XE upgrades and firmware refreshes across the fleet.
Work directly with outside carriers and hardware vendors on circuit degradation, carrier outages, and loopback testing.
Design, install, and acceptance-test complex high-speed networks, and plan upgrades and enhancements with cost and benefit analysis.
Plan, coordinate, and carry out Authorized Service Interruptions under command-directed change management.
Apply Security Technical Implementation Guides and patch or remediate IAVM vulnerabilities to enforce DoW and local command cybersecurity directives.
Program, maintain, and manage Type-1 inline network encryptors such as TACLANE at points of presence, using GEM-X or related DoD element management suites.
Follow DoD COMSEC handling, accountability, and two-person integrity rules at all times.
Lead the technical work on site modernization, lifecycle refreshes, and special engineering projects.
Join the unit on-call rotation to provide fast surge support during critical outages.
