Solution Architect

Description

The role centres on working with the company's customers to understand their business needs and design IT solutions built on the company portfolio, with a focus on scalability, reliability and maintainability.

You will lead a developer team that delivers these solutions, spot chances for new offerings or reusable artefacts, and build reusable assets that improve delivery speed and quality.

You will work with the Practice Architecture Team and other stakeholders to reach these goals.

Responsibilities

• Gather business requirements from customers and turn them into an IT solution that follows best practice.
• Run workshops to collect customer requirements.
• Design and configure applications, integrations and workflows from the company services portfolio, built for scalability, reliability and maintainability.
• Lead developers through implementation and delivery, making sure solutions meet customer requirements and quality standards.
• Find customer engagements whose solutions could become reusable packages or artefacts.
• Work with the Business Process Consultancy team to choose the best business process over the platform's technical capabilities.
• Support the Sales team by spotting new IT solution opportunities and giving technical guidance across the sales cycle.
• Prepare and present technical presentations and demonstrations for prospects, and help the Sales team write proposals and estimates.
• Help build the company's delivery practices around its current and planned services portfolio.
• Take on stories that produce reusable packages or artefacts to shorten delivery time on repeat work and raise deliverable quality.

Requirements

• 3 to 5 years of relevant experience in solution architecture and/or a customer-facing consulting role.
• A BSc or MSc in IT or a business field, or equivalent experience.
• Moderate data analysis and data modelling skills.
• Moderate scripting skills in at least one language such as JavaScript, Python, Perl, PowerShell or Bash.
• Experience with at least one of: ITSM solutions (ServiceNow ITSM, HP/Micro Focus Service Manager, BMC Remedy or similar); ITOM solutions (ServiceNow ITOM, HP/Micro Focus uCMDB); cloud solutions (Azure, AWS, GCP); automation solutions (ServiceNow, Salt, Ansible); DevOps solutions (Jenkins, Bamboo); testing solutions (ServiceNow ATF, Selenium, JMeter).
• Experience with or knowledge of ServiceNow CMA/CTA, TOGAF or IT4IT.
• Knowledge of architecture modelling tools such as Lucidchart, Miro, ArchiMate or Enterprise Architect.
