Description

The company delivers digital transformation and technology work across many countries, and this role sits within its Danish rail business.

The programme upgrades Denmark's rail network by installing ETCS Level 2 in place of older analogue signalling, delivered in western Jutland by a joint venture between the company's Danish subsidiary and Strukton. Aims include better safety, more train capacity and more punctual services.

As Solution Architect you will help set the technical direction for ETCS Level 2 and oversee how it is put into practice. The role links system architecture, engineering and project delivery, and involves working with internal design teams, other group companies, suppliers and partners.

The role suits someone who can move between high-level strategy and hands-on implementation, and who works well in an international team that balances structure, teamwork and creative problem solving.

Responsibilities

  • Define the engineering requirements for the specific signalling and ETCS Level 2 design.
  • Match the project's signalling design to what the generic system provides, working closely with the generic solution architect.
  • Coordinate technical work with internal stakeholders and suppliers so the signalling and ETCS design stays aligned.
  • Maintain and revise the engineering process, looking for ways to improve it.
  • Write and update rules and guidelines that support solution architecture and design.
  • Prepare solutions for change requests and help assess their impact on the system.
  • Approve technical deliverables before they go to project management.
  • Take part in defect management and change control boards, giving technical assessments and proposing solutions.

Requirements

  • At least 5 years of experience in railway signalling and ETCS.
  • At least 5 years of experience in railway operations and principles.
  • Proven experience in a similar role such as system design, complex systems architecture, project engineering, validation or operational safety, in transport or a comparable field.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, with creativity and the ability to make decisions independently.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and a genuine interest in collaborative and technical leadership. You like coordinating teams, stay open to other views, and are comfortable presenting to clients.
  • Fluent English. Danish is a plus.

Conditions

Based in Copenhagen, Denmark, with a hybrid arrangement: 40% working from home and 60% in the office, with the main office in Ballerup.
