The company builds software for mission-critical intelligent systems and has done so for more than four decades. Its customers come from automotive, aerospace, defense, industrial, medical, and telecommunications sectors.

The role joins the Engineering Quality Solutions group, which oversees software quality, safety, and security across the company's product portfolio, and helps grow the SQA team as a Senior Member of Technical Staff.

You would work with Product Engineering and the Certification office on the company's flagship products, with assignments in automotive, aviation and drone, humanoid robotics, and industrial programs depending on business needs.

The work centres on safety-critical and security-critical software that must meet strict regulatory and customer requirements for certification and deployment in mission-critical applications.

Responsibilities

  • Run SQA work on your assigned projects, planning and managing it within the SDLC process.
  • Audit, review, and inspect software lifecycle artifacts against standards such as DO-178C, ASPICE, ISO 26262, IEC 61508, and ISO 9001 QMS.
  • Make sure SQA deliverables needed for certification and customer releases are created, reviewed, approved, and baselined on time.
  • Work with Product Engineering, Architects, the Certification Office, and Product Management to build quality, safety, and security into development early.
  • Oversee software quality processes across several product lines, including the flagship products.
  • Support safety-critical and security-critical programs in aviation and drone, automotive, humanoid robotics, and industrial areas, based on assignment.
  • Find quality risks, gaps, and non-compliances, and drive corrective and preventive actions until they are closed.
  • Support certification and assessment work, including internal and external audits, customer reviews, and regulatory engagements.
  • Maintain and improve SQA processes, checklists, templates, and work instructions as standards and business needs change.
  • Take part in cross-site and distributed team work, applying quality standards consistently across global teams.
  • Mentor and advise engineering teams on quality, safety, and compliance practice.
  • Track and report SQA metrics, issues, and status to stakeholders and leadership.
  • Improve quality practice using lessons learned and industry practice.

Requirements

  • Hands-on experience in software quality assurance for safety-critical and security-critical systems.
  • Deep knowledge of DO-178C and solid working expertise in ASPICE, ISO 26262, ISO 9001 QMS, and IEC 61508.
  • Proven record of auditing, reviewing, and inspecting software lifecycle artifacts.
  • A solid grasp of SDLC processes, configuration management, change control, and traceability.
  • Experience supporting certifications, assessments, and external audits with customers or regulators.
  • Ability to work effectively across cross-functional and distributed teams.
  • Strong analytical, documentation, and communication skills.
  • Organised enough to manage several priorities and programs at once.
  • Self-driven and detail-oriented, able to influence without direct authority.
  • Experience with development tools such as Git, GitLab, Jen, JIRA, Polarion, and Doors.
  • Software engineering experience across the full development lifecycle, including Agile and Scrum tools such as Jira and GitLab.
  • Familiarity with real-time operating systems (RTOS) and RTOS development tools.
  • Domain experience in aviation, drone systems, automotive, humanoid robotics, or industrial platforms is highly desirable.
  • Scrum certification is a plus.
  • CSQE certification is a plus.
