Description

The company's product teams design vehicles, hardware, battery systems, software, safety and entertainment features using a human-centered design process.

Its products carry millions of people each day, and the work aims to make driving safer, smarter and more connected.

Responsibilities

  • You are the plant-facing software integration readiness lead for a vehicle program, owning software-related end-of-line (EOL) and launch quality at the program's plants.
  • You capture and analyze build and EOL data, and flag and contain faults that affect EFTQ. This includes raising PRTS issues and managing DTC ignores in Jira and Deviator.
  • You report status on on-site builds and manufacturing events, coordinating with DREs, VSEs, MSIE/AVG and plant teams.
  • You work on the ground at bench, PPO and plant sites, driving software issues to closure across engineering and manufacturing so vehicles can be built and shipped at acceptable software quality.
  • You are the primary contact for software EOL issues during plant builds and Pre Production Operations (PPO).
  • You support EVC (Electric Verification Check) and HVF (Harness Verification Frame) flash and functionality activities.
  • You track electrical software PRTS issues and make sure owners close them in a timely, effective way.
  • You help QEs and diagnosticians complete the PRTS 4-Diamonds, and approve or reject electrical PRTS issues at the Launch PRC stage.
  • You provide preliminary root cause analysis so PRTS issues go to the right owner.
  • You make sure every process change opportunity is reviewed.
  • You support or coordinate Engineering Try-Outs (ETO) and Plant Trial Runs (PTR).
  • You write and implement containment plans as needed, and track containment and corrective action breakpoints.
  • You support Electronic Easel Board reviews, making sure issues are captured, understood and sent to the correct team for troubleshooting.
  • You work with electrical diagnosticians, QEs, AVG and VSIEs to plan the lab check process for future programs before builds start.
  • You present top issues and PPO look-ahead information to leadership forums such as VIP Ops and eSAPIR.
  • You escalate unresolved issues to the relevant leadership forums.
  • Travel for domestic and international build events is about 25% of the time.

Requirements

  • You hold a Bachelor of Science in Engineering.
  • You have at least 2 years of engineering experience after graduation.
  • You communicate clearly and effectively, both orally and in writing.
  • You build working relationships across functions and cultures.
  • You have shown the Bold and It's on Me behaviors.
  • You can make timely decisions when facts are unclear.
  • You can travel.
  • Preferred: you know the Jira software issue tracking system.
  • Preferred: you have launched a VIP vehicle program at a company plant.
  • Preferred: you have working knowledge of NeoVi or Vehicle Spy tools.
  • Preferred: you know DPS and/or GBFTT programming tools.
  • Preferred: you are comfortable reporting to senior leaders of the SMT and program teams.
  • Preferred: you know the software release process from SMT to manufacturing, including VCAM, SPR, SPD and GEPICS.
  • Preferred: you know the PRTS system and its processes.
  • Preferred: you know the GVDP, ECR, EWO, TWO and BSD processes and systems.
  • Preferred: you hold DFSS Blackbelt certification.
  • Preferred: you have plant launch experience with both EVs and ICE vehicles.
