Description

This is an onsite internship, with most of your work done at a company office.

The company provides edge-to-cloud technology that helps other businesses connect, protect, and analyze their data and applications, from edge devices to the cloud.

You will help build a web application that lets users configure and visualize a highly scalable cloud and network management platform.

You will work next to experienced engineers on frameworks that are widely deployed, look into emerging technologies, and contribute to an open source project.

The work involves real production code, with mentoring and support throughout.

Responsibilities

  • Join an Agile product team and learn from system architects and senior engineers.
  • Work with designers, front-end engineers, and back-end engineers to help build dependable APIs.
  • Turn UI mockups into working screens using JavaScript and React.
  • Help build back-end web applications and scalable software under a mentor's guidance.
  • Attend regular team meetings and help find and fix technical and usability problems.
  • Write and run tests to keep code quality high.
  • Follow new technologies, trends, and standards, and share what you learn with the team.

Requirements

  • Have experience in web application development through coursework, personal projects, or a previous internship.
  • Be familiar with JavaScript and at least one of Go, Python, or TypeScript.
  • Understand basic HTML, CSS, and a modern JavaScript framework such as React or Angular.
  • Understand RESTful APIs and how front-end and back-end systems communicate.
  • Be familiar with version control, such as Git.
  • Be eager to learn, open to feedback, and comfortable working in a team.
  • Be currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree in engineering, computer science, information technology, or a related technical field.
  • Have familiarity with programming languages or technical tools relevant to the role.
  • Have exposure to TypeScript, React, or RxJS.
  • Understand object-oriented design principles.
  • Have experience writing unit tests or familiarity with a testing framework.
  • Have coursework or projects in AI, machine learning, neural networks, or NLP.
  • Have exposure to server-side technologies such as Node.js, Java, Golang, MySQL, or MongoDB.
  • Be familiar with CI/CD concepts or tools.
  • Have experience with front-end tooling such as npm, yarn, or Webpack.
  • Have interest in data visualization libraries such as D3.js or Canvas/WebGL.
  • Have contributed to open source projects or have a portfolio of personal projects, such as on GitHub.
  • Communicate clearly in writing and speaking.

Conditions

This internship is for university students actively enrolled in a technical Bachelor's program who usually work during school breaks and return to their studies afterward.

Full-time students may sometimes work part-time during the school year in some countries.

The US salary range is $35.00 to $41.00 per hour in California, based on base salary; actual offers may vary by location, experience, education, and skill level, and variable incentives may also be offered.

The role is listed under the administration job category.

Applicants with disabilities are encouraged to apply and may request accommodation at any stage.

The company is an equal opportunity employer that makes decisions based on qualifications, merit, and business need, and complies with laws on arrest and conviction records.

The company never charges candidates fees or asks for sensitive personal data through social media or chat; report suspected recruitment fraud to local authorities.

Benefits

  • Comprehensive health, financial, and emotional wellbeing benefits for team members and their families.
  • US benefit details are available on the company's new-hire enrollment site.
  • Career development programs to help you reach your goals, whether that means becoming a subject expert or moving into another division.
