Description

This is a full-time Software Engineer role in the engineering category, with no security clearance needed to start and regular employee status.

The work supports a major United States strategic command, helping build capabilities behind national-level strategic deterrence and long-range operational readiness.

The role involves up to 25% local travel.

Responsibilities

  • Take part in every stage of the software lifecycle, from requirements analysis and design reviews through coding, unit, end-to-end and integration testing, and deployment, making sure each stage meets quality and performance goals.
  • Use Jira, Confluence, Nexus, and Git (or Bitbucket) along with CI/CD pipelines to track tasks, manage versions, keep documentation, and automate work.
  • Write and keep up technical documents covering architecture, test plans, and release notes so developers and new joiners can get up to speed.
  • Spot likely bottlenecks early and put fixes in place to keep projects on schedule.
  • Help with sprint planning by sizing tasks, tracking metrics, finding performance gaps, and driving process improvements.
  • Build clean, well-organised, maintainable code in ES6+ JavaScript, HTML5, and CSS3, using frameworks such as React, CesiumJS, and TypeScript, and following established design standards.
  • Write useful test suites, run unit, end-to-end, and integration tests, and adjust code based on what the tests reveal.
  • Work with cross-functional technical teams to design solutions that scale and can be extended.
  • Propose workable solutions when requirements are incomplete, keeping them aligned with user needs and mission goals.

Requirements

  • You must be a U.S. citizen able to obtain and keep a TS/SCI security clearance within about one year of hire.
  • You need either a bachelor's degree plus at least 4 years of hands-on software engineering experience, or a master's degree plus 2+ years of relevant experience. Equivalent professional experience can replace formal education.
  • You should be skilled in modern JavaScript (ES6+), HTML5, and CSS3, and have worked with at least one modern client-side framework or ecosystem, such as React, TypeScript, TanStack Query/React Query, Styled Components, CesiumJS, or similar.
  • You should understand in practice how to build and deploy applications with containers, using tools such as Docker or Podman.
  • You should have a solid understanding of development lifecycle practices, coding standards, and modern engineering workflows.

Conditions

The position depends on funding and may not be filled right away. It reflects roles the company regularly has open, and applicants may be considered for other openings.

Salary depends on factors including location, Federal Government contract labor categories and wage rates, relevant prior experience, specific skills, education, and certifications.

The proposed salary range is $65,700 - $134,400.

Travel is up to 25%, local.

Benefits

  • Comprehensive benefits include healthcare, wellness, financial support, retirement, family support, continuing education, and time off.
  • A flexible time off benefit lets you take the time you need.
  • Access to robust learning resources to help you grow your career.
