Software Engineer - Level 2 (AHT)

Description

The company's Space Systems sector is hiring a Software Engineer at Level 2 to join a large team made up of subsystem groups, each with its own software focus.

The work supports national security missions and calls for practical answers to hard technical problems. The role can be based in Redondo Beach, CA; Aurora, CO; or Gilbert, AZ.

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain several mission operations software product lines.
• Develop new capabilities for those systems.

Requirements

• Hold a bachelor's degree plus 2 years of relevant experience, or a master's degree. An extra 4 years of experience may be considered in place of a degree.
• Hold an active SCI clearance when you apply, or an active TS clearance with the ability to obtain SCI within a reasonable period set by the company before your start date.
• Have advanced object-oriented programming skills.
• Have experience with C++.
• Know the Red Hat Enterprise Linux operating system.
• Preferred: experience with DevSecOps test automation.
• Preferred: experience with C, C++, Java, Python, or Perl.
• Preferred: strong math and algorithms skills.
• Preferred: strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work with staff at every level, management, and stakeholders.
• Preferred: past work on an Agile scrum team, or familiarity with Agile.
• Preferred: familiarity with the Atlassian suite (Confluence, Jira, Bitbucket, Bamboo).
• Preferred: experience developing on Linux using git.
• Preferred: demonstrated problem solving and decision making.
• Preferred: an active TS/SCI clearance.

Conditions

Travel is 25% of the time.

Relocation assistance may be available.

A clearance is required to start, and the clearance type is SCI.

The offer depends on final clearances and program access being granted within a reasonable period set by the company. Staying in the role later requires keeping that clearance level and access.

You must travel to Redondo Beach, CA for about 4 consecutive weeks of required training.

The primary level base salary range is $79,300.00 to $137,600.00. This is a general guide, and the company considers scope, responsibilities, experience, education, skills and market conditions when setting pay.

Depending on the position, overtime, shift differential and a discretionary bonus may apply on top of base pay.
