Staff Customer Qualification Engineer - 2275

Description

The role supports customer qualifications for the company's datacenter SSD products, covering test plan development and execution, failure analysis and status reporting during the product qualification phase.

You will make sure all hardware and software for each qualification is set up and ready to run, and you will report on execution and issue status in update meetings.

The company is the U.S. subsidiary of the company Corporation, a worldwide supplier of flash memory and SSDs. Its BiCS FLASH 3D flash memory is used in smartphones, PCs, SSDs, automotive and data center applications.

Responsibilities

• Run and coordinate complex qualification setups for several customers at once.
• Plan and drive customer qualifications so they finish on schedule.
• Align your tasks with the Product Support lead.
• Triage failures found during qualifications.
• Log and track issues in the defect tracking systems.
• Push issues to resolution promptly.
• Write regular test status reports.

Requirements

• A BS in computer engineering or an equivalent field, plus 7+ years of hands-on technical experience with SSDs or related storage devices.
• Advanced understanding of computer system architecture fundamentals.
• Platform-level troubleshooting, including run/break/fix work and isolating issues.
• Experience triaging issues on Windows and/or Linux server operating systems.
• Experience writing Python, PowerShell or Bash scripts that other teams can use.
• Working knowledge of data manipulation and analysis, in spreadsheets or more advanced tools.
• Strong technical communication, giving both detail and clarity in complex situations.
• Optional: experience with PCIe/NVMe protocols, including analyzer and power measurement tools.
• Optional: experience with SSD performance measurement tools and methods.
• Optional: experience with OCP Datacenter NVMe SSD specifications and SSD test system use.
• Optional: experience working with stakeholders in a product development organization.

The expected salary is $115,470.00 to $192,440.00.
