AXIS OS – Embedded Software Developer, Lund

The company is expanding its AXIS OS Security and Compliance team in Lund, Sweden, and is hiring an embedded software developer.

The team keeps AXIS OS secure and trustworthy and ready for current and future requirements. Its scope includes cryptography and wider product security, plus compliance with regulations and standards such as the Cyber Resilience Act (CRA) and Common Criteria.

Security and compliance rules keep changing, so the team turns them into practical, dependable solutions across the platform. You will help strengthen security and keep pace with existing and upcoming requirements, in close contact with teams throughout the company.

The company is a network video business with around 6,000 employees in over 50 countries. Its products cover video surveillance, access control, intercom, audio, and intelligent analytics. It is growing fast and supports continuous learning and career development.

Responsibilities

• You will help evolve the core Linux-based operating system, building and maintaining its features and shaping its architecture with teams across the company.
• Design, build, and maintain Linux system software for constrained embedded devices, mainly in user space.
• Use resources efficiently while keeping AXIS OS stable and fast.
• Build and integrate reliable data infrastructure.
• Contribute to open-source projects and make use of them.
• Take part in development from initial concept through to deployment.

Requirements

• You are ambitious, eager to learn, and like solving problems with others, since teamwork is central to success here.
• You have a can-do attitude and enjoy varied work in complex environments.
• You hold an MSc in Computer Science or have equivalent experience in a related field.
• You have solid experience with embedded programming on Linux systems.
• You have at least five years of work experience.
• You understand operating system concepts.
• You are interested in different programming languages.
• You have worked with open-source software.
• You have experience with security aspects of software platforms.
