The team in the company Pharmacy Systems (MPS) is looking for a Cloud Architect for Service Operations Engineering (SOE) to design, build and roll out scalable, secure and resilient cloud solutions for customer-critical SaaS products.

The ideal person has deep expertise in cloud platforms (Azure preferred), infrastructure-as-code and cloud-native application design.

You will work with cross-functional teams to line up cloud strategy with the SaaS offerings and business goals, aiming for strong performance, cost efficiency and security.

The role turns the client's business requirements into specific system, application or process designs for large, highly integrated and complex cloud solutions. The architect advocates for the client, holds final authority on the architecture meant to solve client problems, and directs design work.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement scalable, secure and resilient cloud solutions in Microsoft Azure.
• Lead cloud migration and modernization for mission-critical SaaS applications.
• Work with engineering, DevOps and security teams to improve platform performance, reliability and operational efficiency.
• Give architectural guidance on Java applications, containerized workloads and large-scale database environments.
• Assess cloud technologies, automation approaches and best practices, and recommend them.
• Support technical discussions with customers and resolve complex issues.
• Set and promote cloud governance, security and compliance standards.
• Help adopt AI-enabled tools that improve engineering productivity and innovation.

Requirements

• A degree or equivalent, and typically 4+ years of relevant experience.
• 4+ years designing, building and implementing software business solutions on cloud platforms.
• Experience with architectural approaches such as Services Oriented Architecture, loosely coupled design, composite application design and cloud architecture.
• Familiarity with non-functional requirements of cloud systems: security, performance, scalability, maintainability (deployment), reliability and supportability.
• Experience in a customer-facing technical consulting role.
• Strong written and verbal communication, and the willingness to write and maintain technical and procedural documentation for internal and customer audiences.
• Familiarity with high-availability technologies, concepts and architectural techniques offered by the cloud.
• Understanding of information security and risk management, including disaster recovery, PHI, HIPAA, PCI and related regulations and certifications, plus information security and system access control policies and processes.
• Experience architecting Azure cloud solutions with technologies such as AKS, Docker, Function Apps, Service Bus and Storage Accounts.
• Experience with AI tools such as CoPilot to speed up application architecture and software design.
• Experience designing and supporting Microsoft Azure cloud solutions, including AKS, Function Apps, Service Bus and related platform services.
• Strong background in Java applications and enterprise architecture principles.
• Experience with Oracle and large-scale database-driven applications.
• Hands-on work with Docker, Kubernetes, CI/CD pipelines and infrastructure automation.
• Knowledge of Linux/Unix administration, scripting and cloud operations.
• Experience with monitoring and observability tools such as Splunk, Dynatrace or Azure Monitor.
• Understanding of security, identity management, disaster recovery and high-availability design.
• Strong communication skills for both technical and non-technical audiences, including customers.
• Optional: experience supporting healthcare, pharmacy or other highly regulated technology environments.
• Optional: experience leading enterprise cloud migration and modernization initiatives.
• Optional: familiarity with AI-enabled development, architecture or operations tools.
• Optional: Azure or other cloud architecture certifications.
• Optional: experience with large-scale SaaS platforms and complex production environments.
• Optional: knowledge of Agile delivery methods such as Scrum or Kanban.
• Optional: experience managing large-scale systems or operations projects.

Conditions

Base pay range: $106,100 - $176,800.

Pay depends on performance, experience and skills, equity, regular job market reviews and geographic market.

An annual bonus or long-term incentives may also be offered in addition to base pay.
