Cyber Security Engineer

The company Naval is the naval division of the family-owned the company Shipyards Group, which employs 12,000 people worldwide.

The company builds advanced naval vessels for clients around the world and applies the latest technology in shipbuilding.

The team sits within the E&A Engineering department.

Responsibilities

• Play a central part in designing secure cyber systems for frigates and their associated training centers, from start to finish of each project.
• Write engineering deliverables such as specifications, functional descriptions, schematic drawings and security concepts.
• Take part in discussions with specialists in IT security, OT security, emission security and physical security.
• Help draft test and verification plans for security measures.
• Join design checks and reviews to confirm that the required cyber security standards are met.
• Check the technical performance of vendors and subcontractors.
• Analyse received offers from a technical standpoint, working closely with the Purchase department.
• Make sure all applicable requirements and specifications set by the classification society and the customer are fully met.
• Coordinate with vendors and subcontractors so their input arrives on time.
• Help grow the E&A Engineering department.

Requirements

• A bachelor's or master's degree in industrial automation, IT systems, information security management or another relevant field.
• At least 5 years of experience designing or maintaining complex IT or OT systems, ideally on ships, offshore or in industrial plants.
• Extensive knowledge of networking, IT systems, related hardware infrastructure and system hardening.
• Extensive knowledge of network architectures, layers and protocols, cyber security concepts, data encryption and radiation safety.
• Familiarity with cyber security standards and regulations such as ISO 27001 and IEC 62443.
• Experience working with third-party vendors and subcontractors.
• Good written and spoken German and English.
• Excellent references. A security screening is part of the hiring process.

Conditions

Up to 2 days per week of working from home.

A pre-assignment, security screening and investigation are part of recruitment.
