Software Engineer III, Feature Flagging

Description

The company is a content management company (NYSE: the company) founded in 2005 and headquartered in Redwood City, California, with offices across the United States, Europe and Asia. Its clients include JLL, Morgan Stanley and Nationwide.

The role sits on the internal Feature Flagging Platform, which engineering teams across the company use to ship features safely, run experiments and manage rollouts at scale. The platform needs to be reliable, scalable and observable, and this engineer helps shape how the company engineers build and release software.

Responsibilities

• Design, build and maintain features for the internal Feature Flagging Platform, keeping it reliable and scalable.
• Work with architects, staff engineers and other teams to bring feature flagging into a range of products.
• Take part in team meetings, help plan roadmaps, shape the technical direction and share knowledge across the engineering department.
• Help build and sustain the company's culture.
• Represent the company Poland both inside and outside the company.
• Join the on-call rotation and be reachable at all times while on call to respond to and triage incidents.

Requirements

• A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent practical experience.
• At least 3 years of professional software development experience.
• Hands-on experience with Linux, service mesh, observability tooling and Kubernetes.
• Experience working in Agile or Scrum teams using Jira, Confluence, GitHub Enterprise and Git.
• Strong written and spoken English for working across functions.
• Preferred: experience with Python.
• Preferred: strong algorithmic and coding fundamentals.
• Expected time split: about 60% coding, tuning and infrastructure setup; 10% documentation; 10% bug fixes; 10% meetings; 10% on-call support.
• Methods and tools: Scrum, Jira for issue tracking, Confluence for knowledge sharing, GitHub Enterprise for code reviews and Git for version control.

Conditions

Work from your assigned office at least 3 days per week, with Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday as the focus days.
