Description

The company is a cybersecurity leader, founded in 2011, that protects organizations through an AI-native platform.

The company runs large distributed systems that handle nearly 3 trillion events a day, and that volume grows every day.

The team is building the next version of the UI foundation for the platform, with new UI and backend features that bring data from different security areas together, make key security information easier to reach, and let users tailor their experience to their role.

You will build and maintain core backend features for this platform.

The work supports hundreds of UI engineers across dozens of feature teams, and you will work with several backend, core service and UI plus backend teams.

The company also expects everyone to help adopt AI responsibly, experiment with it and use it to drive innovation.

Responsibilities

  • You will design, build, document, test, deploy, maintain and improve large scale services.
  • You will own your deliverables and be accountable for them.
  • You will triage system issues, find their sources and assess their effect on service operations.
  • You will mentor engineers, both web and backend, on how to use the feature services.
  • You will regularly review the products and improve architecture, test coverage, knowledge models, user experience, performance, observability and stability.
  • You will work with product teams to understand their needs, document new requirements with product managers, and build those features into the feature services.
  • You will take part in on-call duties to keep the service running and as available as possible.
  • You will work with Go, Python, Git, Cassandra, Kafka, OpenSearch, Kubernetes, Postgres, Redis and AWS.

Requirements

  • You hold a degree in Computer Science, or equivalent experience in data structures, algorithms and distributed systems.
  • You can scale backend systems using sharding, partitioning and horizontal scaling.
  • You want to ship code and enjoy seeing your changes run in production.
  • You have a solid grasp of distributed systems and the challenges of scaling them.
  • You work well in a team and collaborate often.
  • You know engineering best practices, including testing approaches, effective peer code review and resilient architecture.
  • You do well in a fast paced, test-driven, collaborative and iterative environment.
  • You meet deadlines and produce high quality software that is unit tested, code reviewed and merged regularly for continuous integration.
  • You have proven experience using AI technologies to improve decisions, streamline workflows, raise efficiency and drive business results.
  • Bonus: existing exposure to Go, AWS, Kubernetes, Cassandra, Kafka or OpenSearch.
  • Bonus: experience working on security products.
