Software Engineer, Golang

This is an individual contributor role on the Content Platform team. The focus is on improving and maintaining the internal content workflow and content distribution systems. You will work alongside Staff and Senior engineers and can grow your career in a friendly, supportive setting.

The company is a joint venture between Red Ventures and UnitedHealth Group's Optum, bringing together well-known healthcare brands. Its products help people find reliable health information, find doctors, save on prescriptions and act on their wellbeing.

Responsibilities

• Build and ship features across the content platform, taking them from requirements to production.
• Work with your Product Manager, Technical Project Manager and fellow engineers to scope work, estimate effort and plan sprints.
• Write clean, well-tested code and take part in code review, giving and receiving feedback.
• Investigate and fix problems across the stack, and support production systems during the team's on-call rotation.
• Use AI tools to shorten engineering turnaround and refine your solutions for the best results.
• Help keep the team healthy through clear communication, useful code review and shared responsibility for quality.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, software engineering or a related field, or equivalent experience.
• 2+ years of software development experience, with a focus on large-scale applications.
• Strong skill in Golang and at least one other language, such as Go, PHP, JavaScript, Python, TypeScript, Java, C or C++.
• Deep understanding of software development methodologies and best practices.
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Experience with software testing.
• Experience using AI for code generation and ideation.
• Preferred: full stack experience across several languages and technologies, including Go, PHP, Node.js with TypeScript, GraphQL, REST APIs and NoSQL.
• Preferred: proficiency in AWS cloud infrastructure and infrastructure as code (IaC).
• Preferred: previous experience with healthcare regulations and compliance requirements.

Conditions

Starting salary is $97,500 to $125,000. Actual pay depends on geographic location, qualifications and experience.

The team works in the office Tuesday through Thursday each week, and you may work remotely on Mondays and Fridays if you choose. The office is at 11000 Optum Cir, Eden Prairie, MN 55344.
