Senior Software Engineer, AI Dev Experience

Description

The AI Developer Experience team builds tools, services, and governance that help the company's engineers, data scientists, and subject matter experts create dependable AI products.

The team works on two areas: an evaluation effort that maintains a versioned set of proprietary evaluation data and a distributed system for scoring agent builds at scale with LLM judges, and a shared platform for LLM work that covers governed model access, prompt and workflow tooling, retrieval, evaluation, and security.

The company supplies trusted content and technology to legal, tax, accounting, compliance, government, and media professionals. It employs 26,000 people across more than 70 countries.

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain dependable back-end services and APIs in Python.
• Design and implement scalable systems on AWS.
• Deploy and operate containerized applications.
• Keep systems reliable, secure, and fast by applying sound engineering practices.
• Work with product managers, architects, and engineers to ship high-quality software.
• Review code, mentor junior developers, and help set technical standards.
• Track new technologies and propose practical improvements.

Requirements

• Required: a bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
• Required: strong Python skills and experience with related frameworks.
• Required: hands-on work with AWS services such as EC2, S3, and Lambda.
• Required: solid knowledge of container orchestration on ECS or EKS, including running workloads on AWS Fargate.
• Required: proficiency with relational databases such as PostgreSQL.
• Required: experience with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices.
• Required: strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work at a quick pace.
• Required: advanced English.
• Preferred (nice to have): experience with AI agents or frameworks such as Copilot or Claude Code.
• Preferred (nice to have): familiarity with microservices architecture and event-driven systems.
• Preferred (nice to have): knowledge of security best practices in cloud environments.

Conditions

Hybrid working model for office-based roles, combining digital and in-person connection.

Work from anywhere for up to 8 weeks per year under the flexible work arrangements.
