Description

The company is moving forward with a clear goal: helping customers and businesses make better financial decisions and helping the communities it supports grow. You will join a team that values different strengths and offers a wide range of career paths, with room to learn new skills and try new things from your first day.

This role covers analysis, design, testing, development and upkeep of high-quality software. You will work well on your own and with others across the organization, take ownership of what you build so customer experience is barely affected, and work comfortably with agile methods and DevOps practices.

The role requires three to five years of relevant experience and a bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience.

Preferred: strong working knowledge of COBOL, DB2, JCL and VSAM. Also preferred: comfort with agile and DevOps, a full understanding of a feature with its users, flows and purpose, the ability to define solutions for end users, clear communication with engineers, product owners, scrum masters, third-party vendors and customers, a solid grasp of algorithms, data structures and architecture patterns, and strong problem-solving and analytical skills.

Responsibilities

  • Design, build, test, run and maintain products.
  • Own your code end to end, writing production-ready, testable code.
  • Create sound designs that follow architecture best practices, weighing scalability, reliability and performance of every system the change touches.

  • Make design and coding choices with the customer experience first.
  • Act on code review feedback and bring your work up to standard.
  • Review others' code to guide engineering practices and adherence to development procedures.
  • Make sure every part of product development meets compliance and security practices.
  • Build reliability engineering standards into development standards.
  • Look for new technology and help set best practices that support the bank's technology transformation.
  • Help build a culture of innovation, collaboration and continuous improvement.
  • Review tasks critically, prioritize and size them for incremental delivery, and raise blockers and delays early, before they need escalation.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience.
  • Three to five years of relevant experience.
