Description

The role sits in the APAC Payroll Country Factory team, which builds new native payroll products for countries across the APAC and ASEAN region.

The team uses AI-driven tools and processes to bring more countries onto payroll, faster, and the region is growing quickly.

The company is a Fortune 500 firm and an AI platform for managing people, money, and agents.

Responsibilities

  • Link the engineers building new payroll capability with the professional services and solutions teams, the company and partner alike, who implement it for customers in each country.
  • Work with implementation teams on customer projects to understand the technical setup, data, and country-specific needs.
  • Design, build, and deploy production-grade software and integrations in live customer and partner environments for new payroll deployments, not demos or proofs of concept.
  • Own technical delivery from discovery and scoping through architecture, implementation, testing, and rollout.
  • Connect payroll systems to customer data sources, APIs, and identity and access systems.
  • Troubleshoot implementation and production issues in real time, often where the problem is not yet well defined.
  • Turn field findings and repeated implementation needs into feedback that improves the core product and the AI toolset.
  • Serve as a trusted technical partner to implementation teams' engineering and business stakeholders.
  • Work closely with product, engineering, and implementation partners across the region.
  • Help the deployment toolset team roll out new capabilities, workflows, and field lessons.
  • Train Customer Experience team members, with the Product Optimization and Acceleration (PAO) team, on payroll features, deployment steps, and troubleshooting.
  • Train Solution Consultants, with the PAO team, on payroll so they can scope, demo, and position deployment capabilities.
  • Support the payroll country development team on product and engineering work between implementation engagements.
  • Help shape the AI toolsets that implementation and development teams rely on, using your field experience to make them faster and more accurate.

Requirements

  • At least 5 years of software engineering experience building, shipping, and supporting production code.
  • A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.
  • Experience connecting software with external systems, APIs, and enterprise data sources.
  • 1-3+ years of experience on the company Payroll.
  • Able to write production code in one or more languages, such as Python, JavaScript/TypeScript, Go, or Java, and to take a project from problem to shipped solution.
  • Familiar with AWS, GCP, or Azure and with modern deployment practices such as CI/CD, containers, and infrastructure as code.
  • Clear communicator who can work directly with customer stakeholders, including those without a technical background.
  • Able to work independently in ambiguous, fast-changing settings.
  • Experience creating training content or enabling teams such as Customer Experience or Solution Consulting on technical or payroll topics.
  • Willing to travel or work on-site with customers as needed.
  • The company Payroll certification is required.

Conditions

Flex work: at least half (50%) of your time each quarter is spent in the office or in the field with customers, prospects, and partners, depending on role, with no fixed number of office days each week.

Remote home office roles may also attend offices for key moments.

The company offers reasonable accommodations during the application process, and does not allow retaliation against anyone who raises a concern or requests an accommodation.

The company never asks candidates to apply through sites other than the company Careers, to pay a recruiting fee, or to pay for coaching to apply.

Benefits

  • Employee referral process is available if you have a connection at the company.
