Software Developer

Description

The company needs a software developer to take sole ownership of a critical application used within the Intelligence Community (IC).

The role is autonomous and uses agile methods in a high-stakes setting.

The position is full time, regular, and requires no travel.

TS/SCI with polygraph clearance is required to start.

Responsibilities

• Own the application end to end, handling bug fixes and feature work alone.
• Design, build, and change software, focusing on enterprise software and user interface development.
• Write detailed specifications and produce clean, efficient code.
• Reverse engineer existing code to learn how the system works.
• Ship updates and patches so the system keeps running.
• Document processes and system architecture for those who come later.
• Support users and troubleshoot problems as they come up.
• Assess modernization or replacement options for the long term.
• Build visually appealing, content-rich, easy-to-use interfaces with clear navigation.
• Study customer requirements and pick the software technologies that best meet them.
• Design, create, test, and maintain applications that meet customer requirements.
• Manage software processes and configuration across the full development lifecycle.
• Fix software problems and act on suggestions for improvements.
• Contribute to architecture, requirements analysis, process work, tool selection and evaluation (COTS/GOTS), and integration.

Requirements

• Hold TS/SCI with polygraph.
• Have a bachelor's degree and 10+ years of experience. Without a bachelor's degree, 12 years of experience is accepted with an AA/AS, or 14 additional years with a high school diploma.
• Have hands-on experience with Agile.
• Solve problems well and work independently.
• Be versatile enough to cover many parts of development and support.
• Communicate clearly with stakeholders and users.
• Have a record of producing high-quality work alone while applying agile principles to a one-person development effort.
• Have experience giving software demonstrations to the customer once a quarter.
• Work as a full-stack developer, including Java backend development with Spring Boot.
• Do Angular front-end development.
• Work with SQL and MySQL.
• Use Jira.
• Use Git.
• Desired: AWS certification.
• Desired: DevSecOps or similar experience.
• Desired: Docker.

Conditions

Salary depends on several factors, including location, Federal Government contract labor categories and wage rates, prior relevant experience, specific skills, education, and certifications.

The proposed salary range is $103,800 - $218,100.

You must work on the client site during the Luke program's core hours of 0900 to 1500.
