The company is a global media and entertainment business with three segments: Studios, Direct-to-Consumer, and TV Media. Its portfolio includes well-known brands across film, TV, streaming, news, sports, and kids programming.

The Digital Commerce team builds customer-facing products and tooling for the company's commerce business, which is growing quickly.

The team is looking for a Software Engineer II who works mainly in JavaScript and Node and enjoys learning new tools.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, test, and deploy web applications, including existing commerce products.
• Build customer-facing products and the test artifacts that support them.
• Develop internal tooling that helps the commerce business scale.
• Learn new technologies and practices on the job, and apply them to best practices and operational excellence.

Requirements

• At least 4 years of software development experience, with a strong focus on application development.
• Proficiency in modern JavaScript, TypeScript, Node.js, Express, and one of React, Vue, or Angular, plus working knowledge of Postgres, Elasticsearch, and Redis.
• Experience with Fastly, AWS, Serverless/SAM, CloudFormation, Docker, Jenkins, and Git.
• Hands-on experience with both client-side and server-side technology, and a solid grasp of common data structures and algorithms.
• Past work on medium to large, mission-critical, highly available production systems that support essential business, technical, or operational functions.
• Strong design skills and the ability to explain complex technical ideas clearly.
• Active participation in the technology community.
• Experience monitoring code health, infrastructure health, and application performance.
• Experience in e-commerce, affiliate platforms, or consumer media.
• Experience on Kanban or Scrum teams, including the project management tools they use.
• Experience with Agile methods such as Scrum or Kanban.
• Experience with non-procedural programming or functional-style concepts is a plus.
• Two years of object-oriented JavaScript experience is a plus.

Conditions

This is an existing open position.

The base salary range is $94,200.00 - $150,700.00 per year.

Actual pay depends on factors such as location, market data, internal equity, skills, experience, training, education, and performance.
