Software Commissioning Engineering Technician

Description

You will commission and tune converting roll machines, combining software skills, automation and direct work with customers in an international setting.

You will contribute to new projects while building your skills alongside customers and internal technical teams.

Responsibilities

• Carry out software checkout, commissioning and startup on converting roll machines, on customer sites or remotely.
• Find and fix faults in software, process, machinery and tooling so equipment runs reliably in testing and production.
• Run maintenance, quality checks and performance reviews, and recommend upgrades and spare parts that improve operations.
• Train customers to operate and maintain equipment and share good practice that raises productivity and efficiency.
• Work with technical teams to improve software programming and develop better automation solutions.

Requirements

• Hold a technical school diploma or a degree in Electronics, Software, Automation, Informatics or a closely related area.
• Have 2, 3 years of experience as a software technician in manufacturing.
• Experience in the converting industry is an advantage.
• Have practical work with PLCs, HMIs, controls engineering and machine safety systems, including Siemens S7/TIA Portal and Rockwell platforms.
• You can troubleshoot well, communicate clearly, serve customers and manage tasks.
• You can travel widely around the world and are willing to do so.
• Have business-level command of English and Italian.
• Bring strong automation and software skills and take a proactive approach to difficult technical problems.
• Build trust with customers, work in a structured way, balance several priorities, and keep quality, safety and customer satisfaction in focus while meeting agreed deadlines.
• Work by the company's leadership principles: take ownership and follow through, champion change and learn quickly, listen to understand and make people feel safe to speak up, and work across boundaries while keeping customer value in view.

Conditions

Permanent employment under the Italian National Collective Labour Agreement (CCNL) for the Metalworking Industry and Plant Installation Sector (CNEL C011).

Gross annual salary of €31,000, €42,000 (RAL), classified at C1-C3 level depending on experience and qualifications.
