Software Architect

This role centers on designing and modernizing data infrastructure and application architecture, including scalable ETL pipelines, multi-cloud applications, and AI/ML integration into core systems. You will work with cross-functional teams and mentor others to deliver secure, efficient software.

Responsibilities

• Lead the design and rollout of scalable, resilient billing data ETL pipelines.
• Decouple services and push for modular, functional code, while assessing newer ETL workflows.
• Modernize the application architecture for performance and scale across multiple cloud environments.
• Bring advanced AI into core applications, including through MCP servers, to improve functionality and insight.
• Guide development teams technically and mentor them toward collaboration and new ideas.
• Define architectural patterns and software best practices, and make sure the team follows coding standards.
• Work with product management, engineers, and key stakeholders to turn business needs into scalable technical solutions.
• Design and oversee data storage that performs well, scales, and stays reliable for large datasets.
• Keep the company's software secure, compliant, and operationally sound.

Requirements

• Five years of experience as a Software Architect.
• Experience with Java, Python, and building RESTful APIs.
• Advanced SQL skills for complex data manipulation and querying.
• Understanding of data warehouse databases such as Amazon Redshift and Amazon Aurora PostgreSQL.
• Hands-on experience with ETL and data processing.
• Experience with at least one major cloud provider: AWS, Azure, OCI, or Google Cloud.
• Proven expertise in cloud-agnostic deployments using Terraform and containers such as Docker and Kubernetes.
• Active TS (Top Secret) security clearance required.
• Preferred: Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
• Preferred: proven record of leading technical initiatives, mentoring developers, and building a collaborative engineering culture.
• Preferred: experience with large-scale data processing and distributed systems.
• Preferred: familiarity with cloud billing data structures and how they are processed.
• Preferred: experience with large language models and their use in enterprise environments.
• Preferred: knowledge of FinOps tools for multi-cloud cost optimization and visualization.

Conditions

Pay ranges apply in California, Colorado, Connecticut, Hawaii, Illinois, Maine, Maryland, Massachusetts, Minnesota, New Jersey, New York, Ohio, Vermont, Virginia, Washington, and the District of Columbia, as local law requires.

In those locations the base pay is $124,000 to $246,400 USD.

Pay depends on location, role, skill set, and experience.
