Description

The company is one of the largest global security firms, with about 90,000 employees. Roughly 1/4 of them are veterans, and more than 1,600 are reservists.

The military internship program is an approved SkillBridge program under Dept. of Defense Instruction 1322.29. It lets transitioning service members gain civilian work experience through an individual internship during their last 6 months of service, for up to 180 days.

The program is open to all ranks and experience levels. Participants are not paid by the company, because they keep their military pay and benefits as active-duty members.

The goal is fellowship-style skills training that may lead to a full-time job at the end. Interns also form a pipeline of motivated military candidates for the company.

The role is Computer Systems Analyst on the Warfighter Training team, as a Training System Integrator. It is based at the Missile Defense Integration and Operation Center at Schriever Space Force Base in Colorado Springs, CO, and supports training on the GMD Fire Control and Communications system using the GMD System Trainer.

The program includes professional development, networking with leadership, and training on company principles, history, stakeholder engagement, products and services, and core job tasks.
