Site Reliability Engineer III

The team builds and runs the platforms behind critical business systems, focusing on reliability, security and scale.

The role sits between software engineering, platform engineering and operations, with the aim of keeping cloud-hosted services resilient, observable and efficient.

You will work alongside application, infrastructure, security and operations teams on automation, observability, platform upgrades and reliability work.

The company provides data-driven risk and decision tools that combine public and industry-specific content with analytics to help customers make timelier decisions.

Responsibilities

• Keep highly available production services running, taking part in on-call rotations and major incident response.
• Look into incidents and degradation, lead recovery, and write Root Cause Analyses with corrective actions.
• Take part in disaster recovery, failover and resilience tests, readiness reviews and follow-up improvements after incidents.
• Spot recurring problems and drive fixes that improve reliability, scalability and operational efficiency.
• Design, build and run AWS ECS (Fargate) platforms, and lead moves of workloads from EC2 or VMs to containers.
• Work with InfoSec to strengthen containers and the software supply chain: hardened base images, image scanning, vulnerability fixes and secure CI/CD pipelines.
• Support cloud-native workloads across AWS and Azure, including Kubernetes-based platforms.
• Build automation, Infrastructure-as-Code and CI/CD improvements that raise reliability and developer productivity.
• Work with development, infrastructure, database, security and operations teams to improve operational practices continuously.

Requirements

• Hands-on experience with AWS cloud environments.
• Experience with AWS services such as ECS/Fargate, ECR, EKS, EC2, RDS, S3, IAM, Route 53 and load balancing.
• Solid knowledge of containers, Kubernetes, cloud networking, IAM/RBAC and distributed systems.
• Working proficiency with Terraform and Infrastructure-as-Code practices.
• Experience with GitHub Actions, Azure DevOps or similar CI/CD tools, including GitOps.
• Experience securing container workloads, for example through image hardening, vulnerability scanning and remediation, secrets management or meeting security and compliance controls.
• Experience with observability tools such as Grafana, Prometheus and OpenTelemetry, plus distributed tracing and centralised logging.
• Strong incident management skills, covering technical recovery, facilitating RCAs and corrective actions.
• Linux administration and scripting in Python, PowerShell or Bash.
• Azure experience is a plus.
