Senior Test Engineer

The company is a strategic AI partner to Fortune 500 companies, helping them use AI in their decisions.

You would join the financial services team, working on testing, system configuration and deployment support for a Card Management System.

The role sits between business stakeholders, product owners, developers and operations teams to get software delivered reliably.

Responsibilities

• Turn business requirements and functional specifications into test scenarios and system configurations.
• Set up system configuration in line with business requirements.
• Design, run and maintain functional, integration and regression tests, both manual and automated.
• Check application behaviour, find the cause of test problems and help with new software releases.
• Run integration tests across connected systems and applications.
• Log, track and verify defects until they are closed.
• Support deployments and checks after release, including production verification.
• Work with business and technology stakeholders to clarify how the software should behave.
• Work alongside developers and business analysts during sprints.
• Suggest ways to improve testing processes and test automation.
• Write test documentation, execution reports and knowledge transfer material.
• Look for ways to make testing faster and raise quality.

Requirements

• 5-6+ years of experience in software testing, quality assurance or test engineering.
• Proven experience with manual, functional, integration and regression testing across complex application landscapes.
• Solid grasp of QA principles, testing methods and good practice.
• Hands-on experience with test automation tools.
• Experience working in Agile, Scrum and DevOps delivery models, supporting continuous testing and delivery.
• Working knowledge of tools such as JIRA, Azure DevOps, ALM or similar platforms.
• Good understanding of the software testing life cycle, defect lifecycle management and quality governance.
• Strong skills in test planning, test case design, test execution, defect tracking and reporting.
• Ability to analyse complex systems, spot risks and resolve testing and quality issues.
• Strong analytical thinking and a practical, solution-focused approach.
• Ability to explain complex topics clearly to non-technical audiences.
• Excellent communication and relationship-building skills with diverse stakeholders.
• Excellent written and verbal communication in both Dutch and English.
• High attention to detail with a focus on accuracy and quality.
• Good time management, with the ability to prioritise across several commitments.
• Self-motivated and able to work independently with little supervision.
• Team player who builds collaboration and supports group goals.
• Curious, adaptable and committed to ongoing learning and professional development.
• Highly desirable: hands-on TOSCA experience, considered a significant advantage.
• Highly desirable: experience in banking, cards, payments or financial services environments.

Conditions

Based in Amsterdam, Netherlands, with a hybrid onsite work model.

9 to 12 month fixed-term contract.
