Description

The company makes story-driven RPGs and is hiring a Senior Tech QA Analyst for Audio to own quality, stability and performance across its shared audio technologies.

You will work daily with the Audio Code, Sound Design, Music and QA teams. The job covers checking complex audio systems, digging into hard technical faults and building testing tools. Your work uses C++, Unreal Engine and Wwise, along with debugging and profiling tools, so you can explain why a failure happens, not just that it happened.

As a Senior, you take complex quality topics from start to finish, give risk-based advice, build test and automation solutions, improve pipelines and practices, and help other QA members build technical skills.

Responsibilities

  • Keep shared audio systems stable, fast and high quality across the whole development cycle.
  • Write detailed test strategies and coverage plans that catch technical risks early and set out how to validate features.
  • Investigate complex audio problems in depth and find their root causes using C++, Unreal Engine and Wwise.
  • Check audio performance figures such as CPU use, memory, streaming and runtime behaviour.
  • Build and maintain automated tests, functional test environments and debugging tools that make investigations faster.
  • Review technical solutions with the Audio Code and Design teams and back up quality advice with data.
  • Improve testing pipelines, workflows and QA methods by researching and adopting new testing technologies.
  • Coordinate technical QA work done by in-house and external teams so complex audio features are covered consistently.
  • Raise the team's skills through clear technical documentation, knowledge sharing, workshops and mentoring.

Requirements

  • At least 5 years of work in technical QA, software testing or game development on complex technical systems.
  • A record of owning quality, stability and performance for technical features across a full development cycle.
  • Solid working knowledge of Unreal Engine and C++, enough to read, investigate and debug production code.
  • Skill with audio middleware such as Wwise, including technical debugging and performance profiling.
  • Expert use of diagnostic and profiling tools such as Unreal Insights, PIX or Razor to analyse performance data, logs and traces.
  • Experience designing and building automated or scripted tests, pipelines and internal tools.
  • Proven ability to find root causes in complex systems and resolve the technical problems behind them.
  • Ability to design thorough test strategies and coverage plans for technically complex features.
  • Ability to judge technical quality risks and turn data into practical recommendations.
  • Professional experience in game audio technology, technical audio or Audio QA on a shipped PC or console title.
  • Hands-on programming experience, including writing fixes, tooling or production features.
  • Experience creating test frameworks, internal QA tools and custom testing infrastructure.
  • Experience running automated tests inside CI or development pipelines.
  • Good grasp of audio programming concepts such as DSP, mixing, streaming and voice management, plus engine-level performance optimisation.
  • Advanced Wwise skills in integration, optimisation and complex profiling.
  • Experience building debug levels, instrumentation or visualisation tools for complex systems.
