Description

You will own the full lifecycle of the company's Bluetooth Low Energy and Multiprotocol products and platforms, from first concept through end-of-life.

You are the voice of customers and the market, turning their needs and application challenges into prioritized product requirements and go-to-market plans.

You work closely with key customers, field teams and internal groups such as System Architects, IC, and Infrastructure and Ecosystem engineering.

The role has no direct P&L ownership, but you are measured on product success: alignment with customers, market adoption, design wins, revenue, margins, ROI and customer satisfaction.

The company is an embedded semiconductor provider with over 21,000 engineers in more than 30 countries, serving Automotive, Industrial, Infrastructure and IoT markets.

Responsibilities

  • Own the whole-product proposition and its business case.
  • Write marketing requirement documents and set specifications for the IC, SDK, embedded software, kits and tools.
  • Work with system architects, IC engineering and product enablement to keep technical specifications matched to market and customer needs.
  • Track competitors and the market, and follow Bluetooth standards such as Channel Sounding and Auracast so the feature set is ready when they arrive.
  • Build direct, trusting relationships with customers.
  • Work with Sales, FAEs, Product Marketing, UX, Core Tech, Product Enablement and Applications teams.
  • Define customer use cases and system requirements, including both functional and non-functional ones.
  • Run competitive benchmarking.
  • Set expectations for how hardware and software are partitioned.
  • Make sure silicon, software, kits and tools work together as one integrated whole product.
  • Build business cases for new investments and drive their success with Business Leads, the Product Line Manager and other cross-functional teams.
  • Check that market requirements are feasible, and guide architecture options and system trade-offs with system architects, marketing, IC, infrastructure, ecosystem engineering and central teams.
  • Clarify and refine requirements during execution.
  • Work with the PMO and Technical Product Lead to keep the product plan on track.
  • Identify feature gaps and areas of differentiation, and prioritize investments using data and customer insight.
  • Align product definitions with Product Line strategy and target segments such as industrial and consumer.
  • Prepare collateral, a fighting guide and pricing with extended teams and partners, and define competitive positioning and value proposition.
  • Serve as the primary technical and product contact for customers.
  • Coordinate technical updates, Product Change Notifications (PCN), Product Discontinuation Notifications (PDN) and similar lifecycle notices.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering, computer engineering or a related technical field.
  • A master's degree is preferred.
  • 5+ years of experience in semiconductor, embedded systems or microcontroller-based products.
  • 2+ years in product definition, product management, applications or system architecture roles.
  • Understanding of connectivity in consumer, industrial and IoT applications.
  • Strong grasp of Bluetooth Low Energy or other wireless standards, with solid RF fundamentals.
  • Working knowledge of microcontroller architectures such as ARM Cortex and RISC-V.
  • Understanding of embedded software ecosystems.
  • Knowledge of system-level design factors: power, performance, cost, safety and security.
  • A customer-first mindset with strong systems thinking.
  • Ability to turn complex technical and market input into clear requirements.
  • Clear communication with both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Strategic thinking and data-driven decision making.
  • Comfortable working across time zones with globally distributed teams.
  • Ability to influence without formal authority.
  • High energy, self-motivated and a go-getter attitude.
  • Track record of launching products, winning design wins and driving revenue growth.
