The company makes embedded semiconductors for automotive, industrial, infrastructure and IoT markets, with more than 21,000 engineers across over 30 countries.
This is a technical leadership role over the company's worldwide compute and CAD infrastructure. It combines hands-on engineering with architecture and day-to-day operational ownership of Linux compute, engineering workspaces, project provisioning, LSF, EDA license servers, Perforce, monitoring and automation.
You would work with engineering, CAD and IT/IS teams to build environments that scale, stay reliable and remain consistent across sites, supporting semiconductor development.
Responsibilities
Set the technical direction for worldwide EDA compute, covering interactive and batch environments, and contribute to capacity planning and roadmaps.
Build and maintain Linux engineering environments, and work with IT/IS on compute, storage, networking and server needs.
Troubleshoot difficult compute and environment failures, and write automation that reduces manual administration and raises reliability.
Take ownership of the project and workspace architecture as it evolves, including creation, initialization and configuration, and the links between configuration, PDKs, EDA tools and workflows.
Give project teams extension points to customize their setup while keeping a supported platform standard, and cut manual steps across project setup and lifecycle.
Lead global EDA license-server infrastructure: define standard deployment and administration methods, and automate updates, validation, auditing, and monitoring and reporting of availability and use.
Write robust Python, shell and other tooling for configuration generation, provisioning, monitoring and administration, and connect CAD systems to Jenkins/CI and service-management workflows where suitable.
Improve observability, auditability and maintainability. Build dashboards and metrics, track compute and license use, spot capacity, performance and reliability risks, and find wasteful use of shared resources.
Guide the Linux OS strategy for EDA, coordinate tool compatibility with IT/IS, support platform migrations, and define clear infrastructure requirements that separate application needs from operational ownership.
Provide EDA expertise for LSF-based batch compute: work with IT/IS on architecture, provisioning and sharing, monitor efficiency, support project-to-batch integration, and automate detection of problem jobs.
Provide engineering-side expertise for Perforce server architecture and operations. Align with IT/IS about server lifecycle, availability, storage and backup, support administration and troubleshooting, and build automation and monitoring.
Keep architecture, operations, script, dependency and recovery documentation current. Serve as the escalation point, train CAD and IT/IS engineers, set primary and backup ownership for critical services, and design resilience and failover strategies.
Standardize license infrastructure globally with regional CAD teams and IT/IS, and support license-capacity monitoring and planning.
