Senior. Specialist, Software Engineering (CIAM)

Description

The role is based in Hyderabad and sits within a global biopharmaceutical company that develops prescription medicines, vaccines and animal health products.

The company uses digital technology and data to guide its work, and the team builds custom software to help address major global health challenges.

The team works in a Technology Centre, one of the company's globally distributed IT locations that support its digital transformation and business outcomes. Local leaders manage the site, including growth, employee well-being and emergency response, and Technology Centres share practices with each other.

This is a senior specialist role in software engineering focused on Customer Identity and Access Management (CIAM). You will help design, build, implement and support secure, scalable and compliant identity services on the Connect 2.0 platform and related CIAM tools. The platform is a core capability for customer-facing applications, digital channels and business programmes across Animal Health.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, configure and support CIAM solutions using PingOne and related technologies.
• Implement authentication, single sign-on, multi-factor authentication, authorisation, federation and consent management.
• Build integrations between the CIAM platforms and web applications.
• Support customer identity lifecycle management and access governance.
• Investigate production issues and continuously improve the platform.
• Make sure solutions meet security, privacy and architecture standards.
• Take part in platform upgrades, market rollouts and modernisation work.
• Write and maintain technical documentation and implementation standards.
• Work with architects, engineers, product teams and business stakeholders.

Requirements

• A bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, information systems or a related field.
• At least 7 years of software engineering and CIAM experience.
• Experience with PingOne, Okta, Auth0 or similar CIAM technologies.
• Strong working knowledge of OAuth 2.0, OpenID Connect (OIDC), SAML, federation and API security.
• Experience with REST APIs, cloud platforms and modern development practices.
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines, Git and Agile delivery.
• Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills.
