You will join a senior back-end engineering role where you ramp up quickly, work closely with the existing team, and start delivering results within the first few weeks.

The role suits someone at ease with legacy systems who applies solid architectural principles and makes technical choices that speed up delivery without lowering quality.

The ideal candidate has strong back-end engineering experience, good judgment, and can work independently while staying aligned with team standards and architectural direction.

The position is hybrid, with office attendance required three days a week.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, review and maintain back-end web applications and services across the platform.
• Learn the platform's architecture, legacy components, integration points and modernization opportunities quickly.
• Work with the engineering team to make technical decisions that fit established architecture and delivery goals.
• Help modernize legacy systems through incremental, low-risk approaches such as the Strangler Fig pattern where it fits.
• Keep code quality high through code reviews, unit testing, static analysis, and adopting or improving engineering tools and standards.
• Take an active part in peer reviews, giving useful feedback that favors maintainable, testable and scalable solutions.
• Diagnose and fix application issues in all environments, including staging and production, aiming for root causes and lasting fixes.
• Work directly with engineering leads, product stakeholders and project managers to support business operations and delivery.
• Research and propose new applications, automation and architectural improvements that would benefit the platform.

Requirements

• At least 6 years of proven back-end web development experience in.NET Framework and.NET Core using C.
• Proven ability to grasp complex legacy systems, spot key integration points, and contribute effectively with limited ramp-up time.
• Strong experience with object-oriented programming, design patterns and clean architecture to build maintainable, testable software.
• Proven experience writing unit tests and applying quality-focused development practices.
• Proven experience designing and building RESTful services.
• Experience designing and building cloud-native SaaS and PaaS applications on Azure or AWS. Azure experience is preferred.
• Solid knowledge of Microsoft SQL Server and T-SQL.
• Ability to make sound technical decisions alongside existing engineering teams.
• Proactive, curious and investigative, with strong attention to quality and detail.
• Passion for technology, continuous improvement and modern engineering practices.
• Ability to manage your own priorities and deliver results with minimal supervision.
• Strong team player who collaborates across engineering, architecture and product.
• Hands-on experience with event-driven architecture is a plus.
• Hands-on experience with microservices is a plus.

Conditions

Hybrid role with three office days per week.
