The customer communications business needs a technology leader to guide its platform evolution, with a modern, scalable and agile system as the goal.

The role leads a global, cross-functional team and works closely with business leaders, clients and technology teams to build resilient, automated systems that support the company's strategic goals.

The position calls for a practical, hands-on leader who understands both the technical landscape and the business value of what gets built.

Responsibilities

• Lead large technology initiatives that bring transformative solutions built on cloud, event-driven and composable architectures.
• Build and run a strategic technology roadmap that fits business goals and produces measurable results.
• Work directly with business stakeholders and clients to understand their needs and turn them into scalable engineering solutions.
• Bring clients onto the Customer Communications platforms, making sure integration runs smoothly and gets adopted.
• Move legacy applications from monolithic setups to scalable, platform-based architectures.
• Oversee legacy system migrations, keeping operations stable and aligned with enterprise standards.
• Take ownership of delivery end to end, from gathering requirements and designing systems through to implementation and completion.
• Lead global teams technically and organisationally, keeping work transparent, accountable and on track for key milestones.
• Promote engineering best practices in automation, resilience and continuous improvement.
• Mentor and motivate teams to build an inclusive, innovative and collaborative culture that gets results.

Requirements

• 15+ years leading large-scale technology transformation or modernisation programmes.
• A record of working with business stakeholders and clients to match technology work to business priorities.
• Deep knowledge of AWS, event-driven architectures (Kafka) and composable system design.
• Hands-on experience moving legacy applications to scalable, secure and resilient platform architectures.
• Strong software development and application design background, and the ability to link technical strategy to business value.
• Proven experience leading high-volume, low-latency transaction processing platforms that run 24x7.
• Strong planning, influencing and stakeholder management skills, with a focus on results.
• Clear communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to simplify complex topics and build trust across global teams.
• A proactive, growth-minded approach and willingness to get hands-on when needed.
• A bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering or a related field is required. A master's degree is preferred.

Conditions

Salary range is CAD $160,000 to $180,000. Pay may vary based on qualifications, skills, competencies, experience and location.
