Description

You will build virtual in-the-loop environments that let teams develop, verify and validate embedded controllers and calibrations for hybrid, electrification, engine, transmission, chassis and intelligent brake systems.

The team delivers these simulation environments to customers on schedule and to their requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Connect virtual electronic control units (V-ECUs) for engine, propulsion and transmission controllers into system-level simulation models.
  • Help build hybrid vehicle models, mechatronic parts included, then debug them and deploy them as components of system-level simulations.
  • Build, reuse and extend virtual controller models so they work across several simulations.
  • Create, maintain and test virtual controller parts such as HWIO, RTOS and communication models.
  • Source, develop and parameterize sub-system models for sensors, actuators and ECU behavior.
  • Integrate plant models and other ECU models into a dynamic virtual simulation.
  • Develop, integrate and maintain serial data links between the co-simulation platform and virtual controllers, models and tools.
  • Write and maintain detailed documentation for each release.
  • Support released simulations, including user testing and troubleshooting.

Requirements

  • A bachelor's degree in Automotive Systems Engineering, Mechatronics, Mechanical, Electrical, Software or Computer Engineering, or a related field.
  • Three (3) years as an Application Engineer or in a related role.
  • Two (2) years of hands-on experience with software-in-the-loop co-simulation integration, including virtual ECU and sensor, actuator and plant or system physics models for combustion engine or hybrid electric propulsion systems.
  • Two (2) years of hands-on experience with Embedded C and Python.
  • Two (2) years of hands-on experience with MATLAB and Simulink for plant model development and integration.
  • Two (2) years of hands-on experience with GT-Power and AMESIM.
  • Two (2) years of hands-on experience with embedded controls software and automated build processes using gcc, gdb, Eclipse, Jenkins and ETAS INCA.
  • Two (2) years of hands-on experience with automotive communication technologies such as CAN, LIN and SPI.
  • Two (2) years of hands-on experience building hybrid vehicle models, mechatronic parts included, in Simulink, Simscape or GT-Power.
  • Two (2) years of hands-on experience making subsystem models run as components inside system-level simulations.
