Description

The company is hiring a senior software engineer for its ADAS HMI team, which sits within the Interactive Experience platform.

You will build production embedded software for microcontrollers (MCUs) and System-on-Chip (SoC) platforms in vehicles.

The work connects vehicle signals, sensors and real-time controls to the services behind driver alerts, controls and situational-awareness features.

The role calls for strong system design with attention to safety, startup time, determinism, resource use and reliability over the vehicle's life.

Responsibilities

  • Write production embedded code for MCU firmware and SoC software in C/C++.
  • Turn vehicle-level requirements into software architectures covering components, interfaces, protocols, data flows, timing budgets, diagnostics and degraded-mode behaviour.
  • Take part in architecture reviews and explain trade-offs in latency, determinism, memory, compute, functional safety, cybersecurity, reliability and maintainability.
  • Build dependable interfaces between real-time MCU applications and SoC services for driver controls, alerts, chimes, lighting, haptics and situational-awareness features.
  • Make software behave predictably across power states, startup and shutdown, communication faults, watchdog recovery and constrained conditions.
  • Work with systems, electrical, HMI, ADAS, platform, supplier and vehicle integration teams from bench bring-up through vehicle validation and production launch.
  • Write clean, efficient, tested and documented C/C++ that meets embedded standards and team practices.
  • Find root causes of cross-domain faults spanning MCU firmware, vehicle networks, IPC, SoC services, operating-system behaviour, electrical interfaces and downstream applications.
  • Own major vehicle features from concept through implementation, integration, validation, launch and field maintenance.
  • Improve build, test, debugging, simulation, profiling and developer workflow tools.
  • Raise quality earlier using unit, SiL, HiL, integration, performance and fault-injection testing.
  • Mentor junior engineers and act as a technical resource on system design, C/C++ development and cross-domain debugging.

Requirements

  • A bachelor's or master's degree in computer science, software engineering, computer engineering, electrical engineering or a related field.
  • At least 5 years of professional experience developing and shipping embedded software in production products.
  • Strong C/C++ development skills on both MCU and SoC platforms.
  • Proven system design and software architecture skills, including breaking broad requirements into components, interfaces and executable technical plans.
  • Experience with real-time or resource-constrained MCU software, such as RTOS applications, board support packages, device drivers, peripherals or low-level communication stacks.
  • Experience with SoC software environments such as Embedded Linux, QNX or Yocto, including IPC and system resource management.
  • Experience debugging and testing integrated embedded systems with tools such as in-circuit debuggers, traces, bus analyzers, profilers, SiL or HiL.
  • Experience with version control, code review, build systems, static analysis and CI/CD workflows.
  • Preferred: experience creating or improving developer tooling, build infrastructure, automated test frameworks, simulation environments, diagnostics or debugging utilities.
  • Preferred: experience delivering embedded software for production automotive systems and vehicle program milestones.
  • Preferred: experience with automotive networks and protocols such as CAN, LIN, Ethernet, SOME/IP, DBC or UDS.
  • Preferred: experience designing cross-domain communication between safety-critical or real-time MCU functions and higher-level SoC services.
  • Preferred: familiarity with automotive practices and standards such as ASPICE, ISO 26262, AUTOSAR or MISRA C/C++.
  • Preferred: strong cross-functional communication, including explaining architecture decisions and building alignment among senior technical partners.

Conditions

The company is an equal opportunity employer committed to a workplace free of unlawful discrimination.

Applicants may be required, where applicable, to complete a role-related assessment and/or a pre-employment screening before starting work.

Benefits

  • The company says it supports employee well-being from day one, at work and at home.
  • Total rewards information is available on the company's careers site.
