Description

The company builds the evaluation and analysis infrastructure that autonomous vehicle teams use for development, sitting where AV tooling, distributed systems, data platforms and developer efficiency meet.

The systems you work on let AV engineers run log data analysis, check how models behave, track down regressions and produce metrics and insights at scale.

You will work independently, partner closely with senior technical leads and help settle complex platform decisions, including high-scale evaluator execution, performance tuning, structured outputs and output schema evolution, observability and production readiness.

The work makes it faster, safer and easier to observe for teams to run evaluations, examine driving performance, validate analyzers and trust the results.

Responsibilities

  • Design and build evaluation and analysis tools for AV and ML engineers.
  • Improve how analyzers are onboarded, executed, qualified and monitored in production.
  • Build reliable services, APIs, CI pipelines and UI-facing workflows across the stack.
  • Define and evolve data contracts for analyzer outputs, covering structured schemas, tabular data, time-series data and metadata.
  • Raise stability, performance, traceability, alerting and debuggability for high-scale workloads.
  • Work with AV engineering, data platform, infrastructure and product teams to deliver complete user workflows.
  • Set guardrails for analyzer rollout, including pre-merge validation, output-size limits, runtime and memory metrics and production monitoring.

Requirements

  • BS or MS in computer science, computer engineering, electrical engineering or a related field, or equivalent experience.
  • 12+ years of software engineering experience building production systems, developer tools, data platforms or evaluation infrastructure.
  • Strong programming skills in Python, Go or a similar language.
  • Experience designing distributed systems, workflow orchestration, APIs, backend services or data pipelines.
  • You can reason across systems software, data schemas, backend services and user-facing tooling.
  • You have worked across teams and carried ambiguous technical work to completion.
  • You balance new feature work with production stability, maintainability and user support, and adapt quickly in a fast-moving setting.
  • Experience with Protobuf, Parquet, schema evolution, data contracts and large-scale analytical storage.
  • Nice to have: background in self-driving car development, simulation, evaluation or analysis workflows.
  • Nice to have: experience with observability, performance profiling, resource usage analysis and production reliability.
  • Nice to have: experience improving legacy systems through incremental migration, deprecation and architecture cleanup.
