Senior Software Engineer, Information Systems

Description

The company designs, builds and operates low Earth orbit satellite constellations that deliver mission-critical data. It was founded in 2021 and covers the full space systems stack.

Its Silicon Valley facility is set up to manufacture spacecraft and integrate payloads quickly and flexibly at scale.

The Information Systems team owns custom and vendor software, data platforms and automated tools. Its work helps other teams move faster, lets factories build efficiently and keeps launch teams running smoothly.

The team is looking for a self-directed, adaptable engineer who builds critical internal software and platforms that cut manual, repetitive work.

Responsibilities

• Write and ship internal software hands-on, using current methods and tooling.
• Take internal software from first concept through delivery and ongoing maintenance for internal customers.
• Help shape the overall information systems architecture, including which technologies to adopt and what to build versus buy.
• Take on new responsibilities as the company's needs shift, moving between low-level coding and higher-level project and initiative work.
• Help integrate and roll out core systems such as a custom ERP, PLM, MES and supply chain tools, automating handoffs between functions.

Requirements

• A B.S., M.S. or Ph.D. in computer science or a related field, or equivalent experience.
• 7+ years of full-stack software engineering experience across frontend and backend.
• Working knowledge of common languages such as Python and JavaScript, and of libraries such as React and Angular.
• Experience choosing and deploying database technology to fit performance and feature needs, including SQL and NoSQL options such as PostgreSQL, MongoDB and InfluxDB.
• Skill building, versioning and tuning REST and GraphQL APIs.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills.
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment with new challenges each week.
• Nice-to-have: experience with modern space systems, including their software ecosystems.
• Nice-to-have: a proven track record in a high-growth startup.
• Nice-to-have: experience taking a product from concept through delivery to the customer or market.

Conditions

The base salary range is $196,000 to $217,000, plus a competitive equity grant. Final pay depends on skills, qualifications, experience and geographic location, as assessed during interviews.

The role is hybrid and requires working on-site at the San Jose, CA office three days per week.

The role requires access to export-controlled information under U.S. export regulations (ITAR/EAR). You must be one of the following: a U.S. person (a U.S. citizen or national, a lawful permanent resident, a refugee under 8 U.S.C. § 1157, or an asylee under 8 U.S.C. § 1158), someone who can access the information without a required export authorization, or someone who is eligible and reasonably likely to obtain that authorization from the relevant U.S. government agency. The company may, for legitimate business reasons, decline to pursue any export licensing process.
