Senior Software Engineer, Membership Experience

Description

The company is a financial technology business, not a bank, and its engineering team is growing quickly to support members' financial needs.

You will join the Membership team, which builds features that increase member engagement, improve retention, and keep adding value through the membership experience.

You will own projects from start to finish, including architecture, API design, polished front-end work, and keeping the code healthy over time.

The role is a senior, full-stack position and the team is looking for driven engineers.

Banking services are provided by The Bancorp Bank, N.A. or Stride Bank, N.A., Members FDIC.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, test, and scale backend services and front-end surfaces for membership benefits, rewards, and engagement.
• Build and improve APIs and UI components that give members a smooth, high-quality experience in the mobile app.
• Work with product, design, data science, and other cross-functional partners to understand member needs, set up experiments, and ship work that moves key membership metrics.
• Make decisions based on data and rank work by its impact on members and the business.
• Look for ways to improve reliability, performance, and scalability across the stack.
• Raise the technical bar through mentoring, code reviews, and promoting good practices.

Requirements

• 5+ years of software development in production at scale.
• Proven experience with Ruby on Rails or a comparable framework.
• Working knowledge of modern front-end technologies such as React, React Native, or TypeScript-based frameworks.
• A product mindset, with a preference for experimenting, iterating, and measuring results.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills, including work across functions.
• Experience with transactional databases, caching systems, and API design.
• Comfort working across the full stack and curiosity about how the parts connect.
• Experience with experimentation frameworks and data-driven product development is a plus.

Conditions

Onsite role, marked LI-Onsite and LI-SL1.

The base salary range is $164,000 - $227,000 USD. The actual offer may be higher depending on location, skills, qualifications, and experience.

Full-time employees may also be eligible for bonuses, equity, and benefits. For commissioned roles, the base salary shown does not include incentive or variable pay.

Work from the office four days a week, with Fridays remote for those near an office. Fully remote employees take part in the same engagement, with events depending on location.
