Description

The company helps shippers and carriers move goods more reliably and efficiently by combining technology, people, and transportation capacity. It uses real-time data from millions of shipments to support better decisions, helping customers catch problems early and deliver on time. It works with 1 in 3 Fortune 500 shippers across North America and manages over $17B in freight.

The team designs and builds applications, distributed systems, and real-time models behind the global logistics marketplace. This covers the carrier experience, high-throughput shipper enterprise portals, internal operations tools, and the pricing, matching, and forecasting engines.

This Senior Fullstack Engineer role covers the full stack, from backend services and APIs to the React web interfaces that customers use. You will work where user experience meets business logic, with product, design, and other engineering teams. You will help set architecture and best practices across the stack and mentor peers.

Responsibilities

  • Build scalable, reliable services and interfaces across the stack using technologies such as Go, Java, and React.
  • Make technical design and architecture decisions for both frontend interfaces and backend distributed services.
  • Set standards for testing, security, maintainable code, and deployment pipelines.
  • Work with Product, Design, and Data Science to define technical scope, weigh trade-offs, and ship complex logistics features.
  • Spot technical debt, scaling limits, and architectural opportunities early, and steer the platform's long-term technical direction.
  • Mentor engineers at all levels, run thorough design and code reviews, and encourage shared ownership.
  • Troubleshoot and fix complex issues that span frontend and backend systems in production.

Requirements

  • A BS, MS, or PhD in Computer Science, or equivalent practical experience.
  • At least 5 years of software engineering experience, including at least 2 years working on both backend and frontend systems.
  • Solid coding skills in at least one backend language (Go, Java, Python, or C++) and in frontend technologies (React, TypeScript, HTML/CSS).
  • Experience building scalable microservices and frontend applications that integrate with APIs.
  • Strong grasp of web performance, API design, and data modeling.
  • Experience testing across backend and frontend, including unit, integration, and end-to-end tests.
  • Preferred: Knowledge of data structures and algorithms, and the ability to apply them in practical implementations.
  • Preferred: Experience with MySQL, SQL Server, or Oracle.
  • Preferred: A proven record of leading technical projects and mentoring engineers.
  • Preferred: Familiarity with frontend component libraries and design systems.
  • Preferred: Strong product sense and a focus on UX quality.
  • Preferred: Knowledge of the logistics and transportation industry.
