The company is a global automotive business. This role supports bring-up of next-generation automotive computing platforms, with a focus on Linux kernel work, device drivers, low-level integration, and diagnostics and health monitoring for in-vehicle infotainment and embedded systems.
Responsibilities
Build and extend Linux kernel modules and drivers for camera sensors, display interfaces, multimedia subsystems, and networking over WLAN, LAN, BLE and BT5.0.
Lead system bring-up, covering bootloader setup, camera pipeline start-up, board support package (BSP) work, and low-level debugging.
Connect USB, PCIe, I2C-attached peripherals and Ethernet interfaces, and tune them so they run reliably in the embedded software stack.
Build diagnostics and health monitoring that keep critical automotive systems reliable, detect faults, and support predictive maintenance.
Find and fix low-level faults in camera interfaces (MIPI-CSI, ISP bring-up), high-speed data buses and network connections.
Help with hardware validation, firmware flashing and end-of-line testing so software integrates cleanly into production vehicles.
Work with hardware teams to validate and debug platform problems and improve how hardware and software interact.
Contribute to upstream Linux kernel work and to open-source communities where it fits.
Set Objectives and Key Results (OKRs) and drive gains in software stability, performance and maintainability.
Requirements
Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
3+ years in embedded Linux kernel development, device driver programming and board bring-up.
Deep knowledge of kernel internals, including memory management, scheduling, file systems and IPC.
Camera bring-up experience with MIPI-CSI, ISP tuning, the V4L2 framework and image processing pipelines.
Solid BSP development, bootloader work (for example U-Boot) and firmware integration.
Strong knowledge of USB, PCIe, I2C, SPI and MIPI-CSI.
Experience with Ethernet (WLAN, LAN) and with BLE and Bluetooth 5.0.
Skilled in diagnostics, health monitoring and fault detection for embedded systems.
Familiar with manufacturing support: hardware validation, firmware flashing and end-of-line testing.
Proficient with low-level debugging tools such as JTAG, GDB, ftrace, kdump and perf.
Experience with SoC architectures and hardware interaction at the register level.
Knowledge of power management, security frameworks and real-time optimization in Linux-based systems.
Strong problem solver who can analyse complex issues across software and hardware.
Clear communicator who works well in cross-functional teams.
