Description

The APAC Payroll Country Factory Team builds new native the company payrolls across the APAC and ASEAN region, using AI-driven tools and processes to bring more countries onto the company payroll, faster. The region is growing quickly, and the team plays a central role in making that growth possible for customers.

The company is a Fortune 500 company and an AI platform for managing people, money, and agents. Its culture centres on integrity, empathy, and shared enthusiasm.

In this Senior Software Development Engineer role on the Payroll Development team, you link the engineers building new payroll capability with the professional services and solutions teams, the company and partners alike, who implement it for customers in each country. You keep both sides aligned so implementations go live successfully and at high quality. You also help shape the AI toolsets that development and implementation teams use, feeding field experience back to make them faster and more accurate.

Responsibilities

  • Work with implementation teams on customer projects to learn their technical environment, data, and country-specific requirements.
  • Design, build, and deploy production-grade software and integrations in live customer and partner environments for new payroll deployments in new regions. This is production work, not demos or proofs of concept.
  • Own technical delivery from start to finish: discovery, scoping, architecture, implementation, testing, and rollout.
  • Lead the integration of payroll systems with customer data sources, APIs, and identity and access systems.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve implementation and production issues in real time, often where the problem is not yet well defined.
  • Turn field learnings and recurring implementation needs into feedback that improves the core product and the AI toolset.
  • Serve as a trusted technical partner to the engineering and business stakeholders of implementation teams.
  • Work closely with product, engineering, and implementation partners across the region.
  • Help train and enable the deployment toolset on new capabilities, workflows, and lessons from the field.
  • With the Product Optimization and Acceleration (PAO) team, train Customer Experience team members on payroll functionality, deployment processes, and troubleshooting.
  • With the PAO team, train Solution Consultants on payroll so they can scope, demonstrate, and position deployment capabilities.
  • Support the payroll country development team on product and engineering work between implementation engagements.

Requirements

  • 7+ years of software engineering experience building, shipping, and supporting production-grade code.
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.
  • Experience integrating software with external systems, APIs, and enterprise data sources.
  • 3-5+ years of experience on the company Payroll.
  • Comfortable writing production code in one or more languages, such as Python, JavaScript/TypeScript, Go, or Java, with a record of taking projects from problem to shipped solution.
  • Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, or Azure) and modern deployment practices such as CI/CD, containers, and infrastructure as code.
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to work directly with customer stakeholders, including those without a technical background.
  • Able to work independently in ambiguous, fast-changing environments.
  • Experience creating training content or enabling other teams, such as Customer Experience or Solution Consulting, on technical or payroll concepts.
  • Willing to travel or work on-site with customers as needed.
  • The company Payroll certification is required.
