Senior Software Developer (DotNet)

This is a Senior Associate role for a Senior Software Engineer who will design and build Real-Time SDK features that customers use to send or receive real-time financial content.

Experience deploying the server-side infrastructure around these features, including infrastructure as code and deployment automation, is beneficial.

You will work with local or remote development teams to set software requirements, produce technical designs and build solutions that meet user needs and business goals. Strong organisation, problem solving and hands-on experience with agile methods are important.

Responsibilities

• Write high-quality software and its documentation from agreed requirements.
• Write, test and debug C code for Real-Time library features in the.NET SDK, based on the design.
• Fix issues raised by customers.
• Estimate the time and complexity of implementing software features.
• Write unit tests that give strong coverage, and review QA test plans that cover your changes.
• Set priorities for your tasks and finish them on schedule.
• Build and maintain tools and applications with clean, efficient code that follows open-source standards.
• Script and automate tasks with suitable tools.
• Review and debug code, and carry out validation and verification testing.
• Work with internal teams and vendors to fix and improve products, and with support to isolate product issues and fix them.
• Record development phases and monitor systems.
• Keep software current with the latest technologies and standards.
• Deploy containerised products to Azure, AWS or another cloud environment.

Requirements

• Proven experience as a Senior Software Engineer, with extensive software development work behind you.
• Strong knowledge of C.
• Familiarity with large-scale deployments using Kubernetes, Docker and Terraform.
• Experience with low-level networking communication and socket programming.
• Experience with TCP/IP and UDP multicast network protocols.
• Knowledge of GitLab, GitHub or another source control system.
• Knowledge of Jira and Agile methodology.
• An analytical mind with strong problem-solving skills.
• A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or an equivalent qualification.
• A Master's degree in Computer Science or a related field is a plus.
• Knowledge of other languages such as Java, Python, Ruby, R, Go, Node.js and Perl is a plus.
• Exposure to using AI to optimise development tasks is a plus.
• Familiarity with Linux and Windows, and with cross-platform development.
• Experience with system monitoring tools such as Wireshark and tcpdump, and with automated testing frameworks such as Robot Framework.
• Excellent organisational skills.
• The ability to work independently.
