Description

The company is a financial infrastructure platform for businesses. Millions of companies, from large enterprises to early-stage startups, use it to take payments, grow revenue and open new business opportunities. Its mission is to increase the GDP of the internet.

The Supportability Decisions team is an engineering group in Dublin, part of Supportability Engineering within Risk Engineering. It decides whether a user's declared business, web presence, account setup and observed transaction behaviour match the company's standards.

The team's core areas are transaction-laundering detection and decisioning, web-presence and URL-policy controls, and low-quality e-commerce detection. It takes in signals and evaluations from these areas and turns them into evidence-based, auditable decisions that other Supportability platforms can use.

The team runs with high ownership and works on some of the hardest risk problems at the company. It builds systems that separate legitimate businesses from bad actors at scale, combining strong engineering, AI-assisted investigation and work with real impact.

Responsibilities

  • You will take a meaningful piece of a risk decisioning problem and carry it through investigation, design, implementation, rollout, measurement and iteration.
  • You will help build domain capabilities and the agentic infrastructure that keeps Supportability decisions consistent, stateful and explainable, and fitted to the business, product and timing.
  • Depending on team priorities and your experience, work may include the following.
  • Building the Supportability Decision Layer, a durable service and API that automated systems, agents and human reviewers use to request, produce, retrieve and understand canonical decisions.
  • Building infrastructure so agentic investigations can combine policy, business identity and history, product context, risk appetite and several assessment signals into explainable decisions with calibrated confidence.
  • Improving the transaction-laundering agent's policy grounding, evidence quality, risk tiering, precision, recall, and its use of behavioural, dispute and other relevant signals.
  • Designing durable decision state and history, tracing evidence through reasoning to the consequence applied, and setting validity and refresh rules so stale outcomes do not persist.
  • Building governed, reusable configuration and integration patterns that cover products, partners, countries and permitted risk appetites without a custom system for each case.
  • Building reliable backend workflows on shared Supportability and Risk Platform infrastructure.
  • Making complex risk decisions understandable to reviewers and affected users.
  • Using outcomes, appeals and corrections to improve decision quality, weighing the need to catch bad actors against the harm done to legitimate businesses.
  • Modernising URL enforcement: deciding when and how URL checks run, cutting unnecessary review volume and user friction, and moving off legacy systems.
  • Extending shared SAE/SPO decisioning foundations, including due-diligence support and product-scoped remediation and appeal capabilities.
  • Improving the Process Orchestration Framework and moving workflow code into more maintainable platform packages.
  • Contributing to future work on automated LPM URL screening, low-quality e-commerce detection, broader web intelligence and active test charges.

Requirements

  • You must meet the minimum requirements to be considered. If you do, you are encouraged to apply. Preferred qualifications are optional.
  • Minimum requirements:
  • 2 to 7 years of industry software engineering experience, not counting internships or co-ops.
  • You work effectively across the full stack, moving comfortably between codebases in different languages and tools.
  • You are as comfortable shipping user-facing features as you are writing custom queries to analyse experiment results.
  • You have strong coding skills in at least one programming language. New languages can be picked up on the job, and the interview process does not depend on a specific language.
  • You collaborate well, work across workstreams within your team and help your peers succeed.
  • You work well with a high level of autonomy and responsibility, and you act like an entrepreneur.
  • You are willing to work as a generalist across different technologies and stacks to solve problems and serve internal and external users well.
  • Preferred qualifications (optional):
  • Experience on high-growth teams similar to the company.
  • Experience building financial systems or tools for financial experts.
